Blocklist - Include In-game forum posts

Remember that time a player from one guild started vaguely threatening a player in my guild with an internet "45" whatever that could possibly have meant. i think that stuff like that could be avoided entirely by allowing a "block player" option in the guild forums. if a player elects to not see messages from a specific account they should be able to read through a forum thread without having to sift through something they consider vulgar and obnoxious.
i find myself now in the unpleasant position of reading through a forum that is deeply interwoven with material that doesn't violate the rules per se, but is rather indecent and deliberately as rude as possible...
i shouldn't have to filter through the chaff to get the wheat.
Plz create a block forum posts option.
Always Yours,
MAjesty

Crikey Majesty, if they put that in nobody would see any of your posts?!?
Just kidding, I think this is a decent idea

I think this is a valid suggestion. I definitely approve. I won't use it because the person I might be ignoring might be breaking a rule but for non-mods this is something that will be really useful.

This should be a basic function when blocking someone. I have updated the title from "Royal Suggestion - Block Forum Accounts" to better reflect the suggestion.
+1 Approved.

Mods and forum rules exist for a reason

-1 for me
Not a huge deal. If it turns into a big deal, the guild leader should do something about it. Or simply leave the guild.
Censorship! Just say no to Prop 18

While I agree that the specific situation provided could be handled differently. Blocking a player in normal circumstances blocks all communication. That is the basis of the suggestion. Yes, one can ignore, but you could say the same about blocking PMs. If we are going to continue to employ a blocking feature in this game, it should block communications with that player entirely. If we are going to half-ass it, then we should just eliminate the feature all together.

I have to -1 this and disapprove.
Forums are public and censorship even player to player shouldnt be a thing in a public space. Just ignore and move on.

It isn't censorship. Censorship would be preventing everyone from seeing it. Blocking on a forum would make it so that any post that occurs from that player would not be visible to you. You would see a "Player Blocked" (or some variation) instead of the actual post while everyone (who doesn't have the player blocked) would still see the actual post. This only effects the player blocking the message. It isn't censorship.
Most forums have this feature already. This suggestion is just asking for the feature to be carried into the ingame forums (Nation/Guild/Tavern).
Here is an example on this forum. The second post of this topic is by Swampy. I've set him as a foe (blocked/ignored). You all can see the message, I don't.
If you notice there is a display this post, which allows the post to be revealed by the blocker if they choose to read it.

I have also seen many instances where a player wishes to reach out and resolve a conflict and the forums are the only place they can do so since they were blocked in game. While not always successful it has worked. This to me only throws another barrier in place for conflict resolution.
