It is no longer a problem. As mentioned, a solution has been found[/quote]

The current "solution" is not the best solution. It is the 2nd worst fix. The 1st worst being having to mail other bankers. The current "solution" excludes small or new banks and has the potential to exclude disliked banks from discussion. The credit score system excludes no one, is permanent, equal and fair, and the long term fix to the loan jumping problem.

An in game mechanic other than this, that forces loans be re-payed out of a person's income is also possible.

Don't sweat it.
CJ is well aware of the short-comings and the game is in a state of evolution currently.
Meanwhile, don't fear the bankers guild.
It's not a club that gets together every week to share banking "secrets" Rather, when some questionable loan applications come up, one can ask the guild if they have received or responded to similar requests.
This is to prevent bogus accounts being made to "milk" the banking system for whatever and funneling the GC to their prime account.
Be assured, its not a consortium designed to take control of Avonmora or,
maybe it is ?
Build a bank, get active loaning out gc and ask to join the guild.
Any major banker can set you up I am sure.

now you sweet it up Stan. and you dont just sweet it up but you also give power to veterans that raise banks lvl. these are info that you can use to harm people. i'm not saying you will but someone else might use them or sell them. i bet that if you were in a lower position like me and many others, you would see that too.

i'm sure that this could help. but since banks is the only way to get money without ships in a ships game there should be a risk also. that's what i believe. from that point and on bankers can decide what to do and pay or be payed by their actions.

a black list would be nice for those that dont pay but having all loans records is just to muuch power in bankers hands..

How do you think a banker should process a loan request without basic info such as, Name, Loan Amount, Interest rate?

One way to avoid a banker from having that info is to not take out any loans but to expect a banker to give out their hard earned personal GC to somebody who chooses to remain anonymous is dreaming in technicolour

Out of here...it's getting too silly for me.

While sure this all has good intentions, the potential for serious harm is there. And if it is there, it will be used. T'is human nature. It's exclusionary at current. What if I'm not in a position to join the bankers guild because of current guild status? What if I'm blatantly expelled from it? Can't this banker's guild fail at preventing the issues you seek to fix while the credit score would undoubtedly resolve the issue? I can make a bank and exploit your current solution quite easily, what stops another? Nothing.

In RL the banking industry is corrupt, inept and prone to exclusionary practices that are harmful to the general population to the benefit of the few. But that's in real life, here in Avonmora we would be immune to human nature.

it's your right Stan to decide if you will give your hard earn gold or not. some people do it and trust me they got much more gold than they had.

it's also my right though to ask these info to stay hidden in order to protect my self and other minor players that are just annoying you.

a black list including those that don't pay to protect bankers is one thing. but having all records as i said is too much power that can be used to harm people.

i expect politness from you. it's not silly. it's exchange of opinions. in my country we call that conversation. if that is silly for you talk to a mirror and let forums to us.

I'll bet 500,000 GC you cannot !

First and foremost, the Bankers all belong to different guilds. Their objective in banking is to earn GC from loaning out their personal GC. They could decide to set a minimum rate of interest they will charge but policing that is impossible as would be getting all the bankers to agree via a Gentleman's agreement to use a minimum interest charge. Don't forget these bankers are all from different guilds and nationalities and do not colouse to set rates. They are all in competition with each other to loan out money to the same potential clients.

I agree a credit rating system would be superior however, incorporating such a system into the current banking algorithm would be a huge task best left for the devs when they run out of other things to do.

Secondly, the immediate demand for a mechanism to prevent lender fraud prompted the bankers from all guilds and nations was established off site so really, there is nothing ANYONE can do about it including admin and devs. People can ***** and whine about it all day long but in the end, the only thing that can be done is not borrow any GC from any bank if you think your borrowing info is being used for nefarious activity. If that is not possible, choose a banker who you think you can trust. If you make your payments on time, no red flags get raised.

I own a bank but have not chosen to get into active banking and therefore I have not signed up for inclusion into the banking consortium. If I change my mind down the road, a quick note to any of the more established bankers will either grant me admission or the status of a potential client's credit history as derived from other bankers experiences or lack of it where upon I make the choice to either lend out or not at a interest rate of my choosing.

yesterday i was reading forums and saw somewhere about base speed. someone asked what is the base speed. CJ said figure it out yourself. i'll tell the same to you about loaning. talk to people instead of making plans to become stronger on them. check who you can trust to give your money as trustful banks did. you don't deserve their info by doing nothing yourself.

a well structured formula to make this work without having any chance to use that info to harm people requires too much work and i believe that its not a priority at the moment when the game lacks in so many other things that can be solved with much less work.

And to be honest it's not about work but nesesity of the features.

I gather you think by signing into the bankers consortium, a banker has access to an open book of all loan transactions that have taken place in the game. I am sure this is not the case. In my guild alone, there are at least 3 other banks that loan out GC. These bankers do not share their client base with me or each other. We also bid in competition with each other. I do not share out any of my client lists with them either unless I am having a problem with non-payment where upon the name of the offender gets published as a warning to other bankers to not take the risk or charge exorbitant interest rates in lieu of the risk potential. Although I cannot speak for other bankers or guilds, I'm sure the same model is followed.
