Bankers Guild Forum

Postby Most Lee Harmless » Tue Jul 28, 2015 12:32 am

I'd like to suggest a new a closed forum thread limited to bank owners only : this would allow bankers to co-ordinate information on welchers, poor credit risks and other miscreants : currently, we seem to have a few who bounce from bank to bank, taking out loans then failing to repay them : for now, we have to tediously mail each bank warnings

cheers

Aye..the situation is such that Bankers must be able to share credit history to prevent fraud cases from occurring.
I do not want to sound alarmist but pay attention to this thread. It is very important for game health.

I concur - a forum, even if modeled after the nation forum would be extremely useful. A simple link that could only be accessed through one's bank would suffice. A little streamlining of communique between bankers would be helpful.

This would also make it easier to do our second job - watching for cheaters, multi-accounts, etc.

Aye, as honest players, its for all of us to note and report to the Admins those we see abusing the rules and spirit of the game : as bankers, we see such evidence a bit more than others, but often its only one side of a transaction and that doesnt always tell us if its an honest or dishonest one. That takes joining up a series of such transactions, often between banks, or the same 'trick' played on several banks, to warrant suspicion. Keeping such a forum private would mean bankers could raise concerns but not have them publicised all over the game, the innocent dont deserve that and it would be a breach of our forum rules in itself.

As an aside, it would also allow bankers to praise good customers, and offer sound credit-ratings to those who have earned them.

I think a forum, while it has good intentions, lends to much power to the bankers. To do what? Well, to coordinate. I warn that coordination can be used for good and bad. I only need to cite the banks of the United States during the late 1800s, and the 1920s. There is nothing worse than bankers working together for profit is the only motivation for anyone who goes into the business.

To solve the problem the bankers are currently facing, a "credit score" system should be implemented instead. Each player has their individual score that fluctuates depending on their ability to repay their loans.

It was such a problem in a couple of cases, the bankers have moved to a non-affiliated chat forum to keep tabs on the worst offenders. If this game had such a place, the migration would not have been necessary.

That doesn't address anything I have stated.

as Roileon said.. if someone took a loan and every banker would know that then we would all build banks and use that to harm our enemies. we would be filled with hurndreds of banks just for the info.. so i dissagree with this implement. I've seen so many features coming out the past few months and my proposal is to try to fix those features instead of adding more. there are many " - " in those feature and we should try to convert them into " + " i believe that the game is dieing. we should fix goldbars, banks, fishing, skirmish. maybe even add some voodoo for these features. Fishing gave power to traders. we need voodoo to touch them. goldbars are filling avonmore and gold is losing it's value, so goldsmiths lose profit. there should also be voodoo to protect traders from this silly bulling by cutter and sloop attacks (pirates) the game needs lot of work before we add more feature. and i don't think that banks forum is a priority at any case!
I'm here to listen, everybodys beliefs. What i'm expressing, is only my opinion. The name "Dragon" comes from the Greek "drakeîn" meaning "to see clearly".

It is no longer a problem. As mentioned, a solution has been found
