Welcome to the forums. But -1.

Not seem harsh. But, if this was a thing, this would completely and utterly destroy the game.

Everyone would have this. The entire gameplay of pirating would die out almost completely. Merchant warfare would die out because they can't hit eachother. Voodoo prices would drop, everyone would trying to sell their worthless voodoo. Then we rename the game PiratesFarm and everyone farms and brags on the forums about howmuch farming they have done. Then we start to dry up the oceans and turn it into pasture land. Then we release this on iOS and create a thousand different in-App purchases and release the game to be like a cool kid version of FarmVille. By this time everyone in the community has quit, except for Guluere.
Just repeat after me: "Czar Ivan did not help me win the elections."

My point of view was, I am just 3 months old in this game, I have 60 trade fleets, so I assumed experienced traders will have lot more than that and through this research they can protect only 20 fleets maximum(that too after completing level 20 research, not many complete 20 level research I guess), so still plenty of fleets to plunder.

I guess because of my lack of experience in the game I am not seeing the bigger picture, I kinda still think it is a good suggestion. But all the well respected people in the game have given -1, so I assume it is a really BAD suggestion. :D

20 Protected fleets forever? That is worth level 20ing first thing.

And trust me. When you grow.

Leveling techs to 20 is not hard. It does take a while. But it is not hard cost wise.

maybe giving immunity to max 3 to 5 fishing fleets to not drive player out of the game. but even for that we have banks credit exchange ship market and other stuffs. you can always have a good backup to recover or feel safe. immunity for 20 fleets too much. actually immunity idea is too much:)
