[Resolved] YAHOO mail issues

Postby Captain Jack » Fri Jan 27, 2017 12:46 am

Ahoy all,

If you are using Yahoo or Hotmail as a mail service, you might have noticed that no notifications are created for you. Even worse, even if you try to use your email to recover your password, they will still not work.

Due to moving to a new server with new address, the "smart" services of YAHOO and HOTMAIL prove not to be so smart after all.
While we expect an improvement in HOTMAIL soon, with YAHOO we do not have high hopes.

The BEST workaround is to ditch them both, especially YAHOO. They both resort to complete block of your inbox for the slightest of reasons. This means you are losing mail from almost everyone at times, not just PG.

The best alternative is GMAIL. There is hardly a better mail provider that we know after all. It's free.

So, if you got a YAHOO or HOTMAIL account and you actually want to receive mail and especially PG mail, consider changing to a GMAIL one (or any other ,really).

If not, you might start receiving mail again, sometime.. we hope.

If you do not remember your password (you will need it to change your email) send as a mail to webmaster@piratesglory.com (from your yahoo or hotmail account). We will receive their email cause apparently even a small business like us, is more professional than they are. It must be from the game registered email for verification purposes.

At your email, simply state the email you wish to put as replacement and we will do it manually. Allow a few hours and we will reply back once we are done.

Thank you for your attention and our apologies for this. We really have been working 3 days on this issue now. Like I said, HOTMAIL will probably work soon but we have no hopes for YAHOO.

At the same time, we noticed already troubles from our users. So, you better know what is the deal so you can choose how to act.

Cheers,
Cpt Jack

YAHOO issue is not resolved yet.

Try adding the following email addresses to your contact list:
webmaster@piratesglory.com
webmaster@evdaimon.com
bounce@piratesglory.com

This might help in receiving email from us.
Make sure your email is accepted by PG (if not, a verify button will exist at the account manager: http://www.piratesglory.com/main.php )

So, after you add these emails, click on verify. If you still cannot receive mail from us, we recommend you change your game email to anything else but YAHOO.

For reference, here is their official reply:

Yahoo wrote:Hi Panagiotis,

Thank you for contacting Yahoo's Postmaster department. I'll try to help you out as best as I can.
We aren't able to guarantee consistent Inbox delivery for your mail, but we've made appropriate changes to this IP address in our database. This should help with delivering mail to the appropriate Yahoo Mail folder.

It's important to know that Yahoo Mail users are able to set their own preferences, including marking received email as spam.

If you want recipients to receive your messages in their Inbox, we suggest you either:
Recommend that they set up a filter in Yahoo Mail specifically for your emails.
Have them add your email address(es) to their Yahoo Contacts.

Check out our "Best practices for senders" help article for more ways you can ensure your emails reach their intended recipients.
Thanks! We appreciate your patience.
If you come across any other issues, feel free to reach out to us again.
Thanks,

Jesse

Unfortunately, they fail to adhere to their own rules and specification as we more of comply with what they require. Even the change they promised - it never happened.

For reference, HOTMAIL response was much faster and it worked. HOTMAIL after our communication sorted out the issue (which is relevant to the new IPs we received).
GMAIL was the best out of three as it required no contact. Their engine worked it out admirably. From the feedback we tried, they do not even put us in SPAM folder.

So again, if you want to stick with YAHOO, try adding the three emails in your contact list. Let us know if it worked.

Still, the best solution is to ditch yahoo completely.

Our recent checkup shows that YAHOO has eventually started to accept our mail once again.

This issue is now closed. Thank you for your patience.
