First ever inactivity cleanup

Greetings everyone,

We have just finished our first every inactivity cleanup. About 30,000 characters have been removed. Alongside with them, 28,000 ships have joined the sea bottom. If any of them had treasure buried, these still remain buried in Avonmora.

Characters removed will not be memorized anywhere. These were all characters with 0 gold, 0 cannons and 0 crew that have not logged in the last 30+ days. From now on, we will clean similar inactive zeroed players weekly.

You will all see now that there are about 12,700 active players. This is not true as about 4000 players of them seem inactive. Most of them however are characters with wealth and therefore we will not be removing them for now. We will see what to do with them in the near future.

Finally, the population we removed from ports, was because we wanted to add some realism to the Earthquake roleplay event. The affect is ineligible but the rp result is great.

Do it again times 10 and then hit port supply by at least 50-75% there's no reason for there to be 2 billion hammers in tortuga. it would be awesome if people actually had to struggle, or better yet hire crew in some manner, instead of having infinite available of supply and persons. my 2 cents/

side note. clever clean-up method.

I would like to question about the guild [V.O.C.] I have never voodoo,d to look but the whole guild looks unrealistic to fame is too even. Are they a genuine guild ?

All guilds are genuine. There are no bot-players.

yes, but the concern is their not there, and havent been there for far more then 30 days. but they have growing fame because of gov't daughter, and still have gold and/or a single ship w/o or with low crew.

is it possible to retire them?

I explained above that we will let such player be for now. With the fame loss due to inactivity script, they will be losing fame everyday now, instead of earning due to daughters.

We will see what to do with them at some other point.

if theyre losing not gaining, it'll correct itself regardless.. so thats cool, it would actually change my perspective. it looks like they had a good thing before they left. it'd be cool to have ghost guilds floating around
