If I understand, CJ is suggesting an additional skirmish tactic for the academy.

If I understand, the current technology that will be available for the skrimish tactics will increase that 1 per day per level. In otherwords, Level one would recieve 3 plus one for the academy, Level two would recieve 3 plus 2 for the academy, etc.

The second tactic would increase the reward for a successful skirmish.

Taken into account, skirmishing would become quite an industry in itself. If both disciplines were taken to level 20, a bloke would get 23 skirmishes a day with a possible reward of 150k per successful skirmish.

That is, if I understand the proposals correctly.....

Aye, as I suggested, it could become a main income stream : allowing for 25% fail rate : 17/23 hit rate @150k (plus the 'normal' booty) = 2mil plus per day ?

Aye, and if both disciplines cost the same, that would be 16,862 gold bars and 51,221,772 gold coins to get to level 20, and would take just over 108 days without any efforts to speed up the study time.

Interesting opportunity there....

3.4M gold per day if you can skirmish 23 times per day. That's a huge amount of gold being created by the game! I really think 7.5k gold per skirmish per level is too high. Maybe 3.5k?

Lol!

Valuable input :)
Let's go for the 3.5K for a start and we can revise later.
Same technology cost with the Skirmish Tactics works for us.

We thought to give it the name Piracy and have it give bonus at both Skirmish and normal plunder. 3.5k per level sounds good for an entry version. We can revise later.

Hey Jack,

At what point in the speed calculation is the bonus to Galleons included?

Is it an adjustment to the base speed of the ships and factored first? OR is it included like Sails, Hammocks, etc and factored in part way through?
