Hello Boys and Girls!

It's that time of year for all of us to sit in our story circle and tell stories of Avonmoran Past. Today our stories are about interesting, funny, silly, or ridiculous voodoo encounters. You know you have seen them. Now is the time to tell those stories.

Remember this is the Tavern, so drag shows, run by flashings, cat fights, verbal molestation, and mind pillaging are not allowed.

I'll begin...

So there I was, ready to devastate my enemy. I cast my HNs, FFJs, Confuse, Disfavor, Time Spirals, and Mindbar. I waited patiently for over an hours for their fleets to show up on the board. Nothing. I checked the port Gossip for recent battles, but none were related to my enemy. All of my voodoo was still active. I cast a Spy Network. 0 Ships.

Oooh I just recently got hit with a flurry of urban legends and then hired diplomats. Still have an MB up. Hostility in NZ and I don’t have to lift a finger.

Let’s see I have sabo’d a howker or two lol. But I found the target when I realized I was using the Fleet ID and not the Ship ID.

LOL Dez.. I have had that happen too!

I will lay claim to those NZ ULs.. 100% it was me. Ill throw more too if your sails appear anywhere near the horizon..


Ill even own tossing the Hired Dips in error (SHould put it in Avonmora Accidents thread however as none got thru it doesnt count)

I tabbed that up to read and check the cost and turns, and momentarily distracted by fighting animals in my domicile.. When that was dealt with I sat back down and then decided to toss a few more ULs only I didnt change back to UL in Inventory .. And wasnt taking much notice.. silly moi ..

However.. the HDs did not get under your mind bar so no point in even mentioning them.

As for the howkers.. they werent mine so there's more funny voodoo for ye..

I recently was trying to capture some ships.
I kept trying to cast ambush on a fleet, but it was not working.
I had the id written down, so i knew it was right,
The fleet was still on the sn i had taken aboit 15 minutes
earlier.

So i checked port battles history to see if someone had beat me to the fleet.

Someone had already stolen the fleet.

It was me. I had captured it a few minutes earlier,
Before stealing ships from other fleets and circling back.

I felt kinda dumb, but then I was happy I was not at ambush limit and I could use the remaing ambush casts on other fleets.

I once drained a certain player of their turns to load up some fugis and hn’s, threw a mindbar on them to make it hard to clear for guildmates

Voodoo never got cleared, mindbar remained up.

Next day rolls around i forget i had a mindbar on said player. I cast multiple serenities to clear it. Only realized how big of an idiot i was later that day

Not done that, but i have on more than one occasion wasted serenities clearing a mindbar to cast ffj on people, only to find out my guildmate had already cast ffj on them and then locked them down with the mindbar i just cleared

I did the MB thing when I was a noob. It was one of the first times I tossed voodoo at another player. At the time I didn't know that you could cancel what you cast on another. I felt so stupid and down as I wasted the valuable limited voodoo I had.

I will forever thank Wally for making me aware of the cancel button! Lol.

On my arrival in Avonmora, AB introduced me to CDV who kindly helped me get my first ships.
Barely a couple of days in and I wanted to do something nice for him as a thanks. I figured there would be a voodoo card I could send as a gift.

I did my best to understand them and scoured through many before I found what I thought I was looking for -

Finally, feeling confident about what I was about to do, I cast it .. Favourable Winds...
I remember being surprised at how quickly he messaged back asking " Why did you do that?" .. I replied proudly, but nervously , " bc it's good, helplful voodoo, no?"

He say, " no '
As it dawned on me I may have got this wrong another message arrived immediately I had read the first ... Confused I read it quickly .. ' not this time .. " When I told Anne she toyed with me and said I was as good as dead - I felt so bad - LOL
