RolePlay Pirates in Prote

Ahoy all, time for a new RP, this one probably won't be too long, but should be fun. Figured I'd tie it to the recent event of the pirate port.

On Day 3663, Pirates seized the port of Prote. As of now, the pirates are celebrating, drinking, and cheering their good fortune. In a local tavern named the Polish Potatoe, tales are being shared and plans are being discussed on what should be done next. Burt the bartender is busy slinging drinks and taking orders, as various patrons dine at his tavern.

[Jack Teach]

A pirate dressed in the style of Francis drake enters the bar. He's carrying a cutlass, five pistols, two large knives, and a stout walking stick in his left hand. He drunkenly swaggers over the to bar, only stopping when he rams into it with a bump. He pushes his awkwardly cocked hat into an even worse position and says with a speech so slurred that it's difficult to make out:

"One.... barrel of rum if you please sir."

He fumbles in a large pocket and draws out a hefty bag of silver and tosses it at burt

Burt catches it, checks it and goes to get him his barrel of rum. After a minute he returns and hands him the barrel. Nearby an old hag sits drinking by herself as she watches the bar. A group of young rough looking men talk to eachother as they size up the other bar patrons.

[Jack Teach]

The pirate pulls the cork out with his teeth and drinks the entire thing in about five minutes. The pirate falls asleep for about 10 minutes, and then wakes up, completely sober. He reaches into his pocket and pulls out a long pipe and begins to create such a cloud of smoke that his head is entirely obscured. He calls out in a clear voice

So me lads, how was your plunder?

[Henry Avery]

A familiar and outrageously dressed duke walks in, appearing to only have grown richer since his last appearance, a heavy golden ring on ever finger, greatcoat jangling with every step thanks to the (likely fake) medals pinned to it. He's very clearly just woken up from a drunken stupor, having slept through the entire takeover.

"Pardon, but what are all these...ruffians doing here, Burt?"

[Meliva]

Burt shrugs

Port was taken over by pirates. They pay for their drinks and don't fight in the pub so I don't much mind. Those lads over there will probably try to rob you when you step out though. So, be wary of that. I imagine in a few days Channel Island will clear the pirates out though.

Nearby the young pirates are eyeing him greedily as they all step outside and grip their weapons. Meanwhile the old hag in the corner watches them go and takes another long drink from her tankard.

[Jack Teach]

The pirate steps out of the cloud of smoke and sees the duke. His eyes narrow, and he steps over and grins

Ahhh, Avery... isn't it? Remember me mate? I believe you owe me a little something?

the pirate leans over and holds out a weathered hand as if expecting something to be put into it.

[Henry Avery]

Of course, said Duke was hardly a pushover- in Avonmora, titles are won on the battlefield, and this one had also apprenticed to some of the fiercest men and women to sail the seas. He simply shrugged, took off his richly brocaded greatcoat and hat, leaving them with Burt, and marched out the door, sending each young man back in battered and bruised, and short their own coin purses to boot.

(OOC: sorry jack, my memory is terrible, what does he owe him?)

[Jack Teach]

It's not based on anything that we did before it's just something I made up.

As the duke beats up the pirates the pirate stands like a statue, his hand still outstretched, his expression slowly going from friendly to apathetic

[Henry Avery]

The duke returns, placing a large coin purse in Jack's outstretched hand.

"Indeed I do, Captain Teach- the wagered money, as promised."
