Ahoy all, since some scallywags appear to be unable to make worthwhile bounties, I'm here to instruct how to do just that along with a neat trick.
The first step in making a worthwhile bounty is figuring out a good price. Now, a lotta folks have the issue of going too cheap. Too cheap and no one takes your bounty unless you're lucky or the target is hated by someone. You also don't wanna burn money and go too expensive. So how do you figure out the cost?
Well that depends on what the bounty is. For voodoo examine the cost of the card on the market atm. Let's say it's roughly 5 credits for the voodoo you want. Multiply that by the cost of the credit, and you get about 2.5M gold coins(at the time of writing). So you might think, GREAT, 2.5M bounty then right? WRONG! You also need to factor in retal, and the cost of turns. A good method is to add an extra half million or million, depending on how fearsome the target is.
For other bounties, such as plunder, ship plunder and skirmish, you generally don't need much incentive for this, so just throw in a few hundred thousand per hit will do the trick, unless it's a scary target.
Now onto the trick I have prepared. The combo.
Use bounties that combo with each other. Combine FFJ bounties with plunder bounties. motivating people to light them up then hit them. There are other possible combos, such as HN's and plunder, disfavor with ships plunder to encourage folks to go with ambush. Probably more that I can't think of off the top of my head, so be sure to think before you make a bounty.
Edit-other's feel free to suggest other combos or tips and tricks with bounties, or your opinion on them and my guide. Thanks, and happy sailing!
