RolePlay Trials in Tortuga

Alright, here's the newest RP. Rules are as follows.

1. Try to keep things in character. Don't post something unrelated to the RP here. If you don't like this RP, don't complain about it here. Post a new thread or start your own RP thread if you don't like this one. I would actually be quite happy if someone posts a RP of their own so please feel free to do so.
2. You can control your characters actions-You can not control others. NPC's are fair game and anyone can control them, so long as its believable and in character. A guard for example shouldn't just up and decide to shoot an orphan for no reason-that is out of character. Anyone without a name will be considered a NPC, if you name a character but want it to be a NPC then just mention that said character is NPC in quotation marks after a post.
3. You are allowed to have multiple characters- but be reasonable. Don't flood the story with a bunch of your characters. 2 or 3 in one story is fine, anything past that is sort of pushing it unless you are really good at managing them.
4. Use Italics for actions, and try to separate things nice and neat. Also use paragraphs when needed. Quotations if for speaking out of the roleplay.
5. No editing of a post once you post it. The exception is to fix spelling mistakes or minor errors. It can be real annoying when someone posts one thing and another responds to it only to find what they responded too is now completely different.
6-Do not act on knowledge you know but your character doesn't- If for example Character A is being attacked in the tavern, and your character is in the church, you can't have your character suddenly rush to the tavern to help unless you can give a reason WHY he knows what is happening or he is rushing to the tavern.
7-if you have an objection to something, message the person directly first to resolve it.
8-Please do not decide things for other's characters without consulting them first. For example-don't say your character is my character's father, or lover, or anything without asking me first. Same for all folks. It puts them in an awkward spot.
9-keep things relevant to PG and pirates and their era and tech. So no aliens, or airplanes. Voodoo and magic are fine.

Next post will begin this story.

In the port of Tortuga, in an old Bar by the port An old bartender named Burt watches the door as the tavern is mostly empty, other then an old woman in one corner a few regulars, a couple off duty guards and 2 cloaked individuals speaking to each other in the other, though the darkness around them makes it hard to tell who they may be.

Jack walks in the bar. Wearing the same old sea-clothes, though now they've been cleaned of blood. He looks nervously around. He walks with strong-sea legs over to a table and calls for rum and food.

Burt quickly hands him rum and food, and nods to him

Here ya go. Feel free to talk to me if you have any questions or be looking for work.

The door violently swings open, as a giant armored man stomps in and shouts

Veera! You in here!

No one responds, so the man just sits next to Jack, the stool breaking under his weight and he curses

Damn it. Eh, I'll just sit on the floor. Hey Burt, how ya doing!

Burt glares

Stop sitting on my furniture breaking it Eloth, and I'll be a lot happier.

Jack takes a bite of his food and sips his rum. He greets eloth and says to him:

So mate, have you noticed any odd things going on here?

Just got here about the same time as you. I plan to just go into every business and shout for Veera. Sooner or later, I'll find her, or she'll find me. If that don't work, I'll probably just go to her hideout and smash and burn things there. That will get her attention for sure.

Eloth thinks

Course, usually best not to get her attention. Especially in a bad way. So hopefully I can avoid that. For now let's just relax until some more folks show up, then maybe come up with a better plan.

Jack drinks from his rum

I'd not recommend being loud about finding her.

Jack thinks for a moment

Then again... she probably knows we're here anyway so it doesn't really matter. I agree though, let's just relax until we can figure out what to do.

Eloth nods

Yeah. She basically said where she was heading out loud. She's many things, but stupid ain't one of them. Honestly she might not be here. Might have finished up and just left. Thankfully I know one of her hideouts. Course, as strong and brave as I may be, I actually wouldn't want to fight her in a hideout of hers. That would be very unwise and dangerous.

But for now, let's drink. Burt, give me whiskey, and keep it coming.

He takes off his helmet, and begins happily drinking.

Jack takes a big drink of rum. He grins

This is better rum than the last place. I'll have to purchase some of this, my rum onboard tastes like water.

It's because our rum is aged a bit and comes from a better source. Takes a while to get it here. Rum in St. Martin isn't aged as much, since they are right next to 2 major exporters of rum. Course, Pania rum tends to be a bit metallic due to the nearby iron mines of Regis, while Baramas wine has a sort of woody flavor thanks to Kanoni forests. Best rum in my opinion is Akrotiri. Nice and pure. We get most of the rum here from that port, which helps it age on the way here.
