Recently I have come to aquire more then a few 60 attribite Ship of the lines, and would like to sell a few.

Seeing as you have all the ship numbers, what's stopping you from doing exactly the same to the new owners or selling off the list of ship numbers to whoever else uses the LEVI-Retreive strategy? Those ships are pretty much worthless now.

The same numbers one can through a battle if they got the mind?

I'm pretty sure Nelson, Dman and Shadow if not Feniks and Banger too, got all my atts dialed in, from plunders.

What makes this different from the ship market either? He can still see when the ship goes off, and also, give the ID then.

Ship numbers are not displayed in the ship market. CJ took that away when this strategy was highlighted about a year ago.

Why go to all the trouble if of analysing battle stats if you have a list of 60 pointers already prepared? You've just named 4 other player who might be interested in knowing those numbers.

By all means, spend 90mil on a ship that can be taken away without any effort, it's your gold.

I don't know what all the fuss is about, just seems like a humble shipwright trying to make a living.

There are so many in game ways to get ship ID's. Funny you singled out all VUDU members. On of the first lessons I learned was from Vane. I attacked him on the plunder board and he sent me a message commenting that I must have a 60 in my fleet and that he was logging the ID.

But I don't get what you fear, Redish.

For how long can a sotl be on the market, after being sold? Even after that, Nelson can have saved the ID, sent it to others and so on.

No fear from me, just stating a fact...

It's your gold.... Just saying... Ship number + Rotten Food + Spy network + 10 times Levi + Shipwreck hunt....and in a few months there is another sale with exactly the same ships.

and so on, and so on, and so on

Easy counters to this

- buy it, sell it, buy a different 60 off the market and hope the Id is not logged.

- become best friends with Nelson so he feels fairly bad about it when he does it to you.

- sail ships that are not worth the levis and use other tactics to fight instead of just brute strength
