Any ideas

Good day to all of you. I have noticed a problem as of late.

I have lost six million fame in just the past few weeks. While this really isn't a big deal, the reason for the loss is.

So there are less merchants lately it seems, and all it takes is two hostel natives voodoo, me having to be at work or with family and I loose 10+ Million Dollars (the cash taken by plunder and the money it takes to fix my ships) plus I loose an hour+ of time to go through all my ships.

Now I know there are some that say, its part of the game and your right, but I really would like you all to think that, sure you may only tag a player once a week, but what about the other people that only tag that person once a week.

Its so easy for merchants to loose everything they have worked for with two hostel natives. At this point i have stopped spending real money, I have stopped running plantations, and I just wait to see the 120 messages waiting on my news stream to let me know that all my hard work the past week is gone.

I know this isn't Merchants glory, and maybe that's the answer, to just become a pirate, but I enjoy building stuff up, and dont mind a some attacks, but all it takes are two hostel natives and the world can bring fire on me.

Is there a way to take some of the heat off? Maybe hostile natives are only available for x amount of hits by that player, or there can be a cool off period? Something? anything? Anyone?

Its Pirates Glory. Do not complain that the pirates have came back from a six month hitaus. You have had your peace - And now you shall see the opposite.

I could point you in 1000's of threads that have suggested similiar things. From people that have lost more then you. CGoody lost 16 sotl the other day? Did he complain? No. :) Annoyed? Yes. Things come and go.

If you can not deal with a hit every now and then and sometimes in the same week, go play farmville. :)

Meanwhilst, this hatred towards the pirates is making me stronger. Thank you :hh

Run escorts like the infamous one eye :) one fleet at a time and you’ll get there. Hell even steal from pirates if you have to. It takes some practice to get good at stealing ships ;)

Im not saying I have lost a lot, I was just looking to spark a conversation about how these cards can hurt the pirates.

The first thing to do to demagnetize yourself in your situation would be by like not having i dunno like say 100 million in your treasury.
That shows on the demographics and anyone even a merchant is likely to come hunting that.
I could be wrong but somehow it doesnt seem likely. :beer

On a side note as far as the acquisition of ships goes, you can always buy them from the market and name them after Banger, some have done that. :pirateflag

I've always found that there is several ways to reduce the amount of risk you take while still being fairly profitable.
I Keep only about 1-2 mil on hand, I use tails for all my trade fleets, and I like to have a war fleet at each end of my routes to hit anyone thinking to attack me. Having a guild that supports me has also saved more then I can calculate.

There are some in the game that run a mindbar 24/7 (PHX, Sparrow, SHM). While this isn’t a full proff plan to ward off an attack it will add you in lose

Run escorts. This takes time to do and will get spendy but will also aid you against pirates. See pirates don’t want to run up to much danger on bigger ships (unless you’re Banger)

Join active guild. An active guild is huge in a game like this. And always reimburse, and let your team know you will, the cost of voodoo spent plus some. They’ll be more app to aid when they know it’s not a cost to them.

Set an alarm or calendar remains on nation payouts. I’m guilty of this myself. But when you show up on the demographics page with 100 million Expect voodoo. Each hit is worth $275k plus any sink chance on your tail ships. Many pirates will go for this when they see it. How can they not.

Cast back: if you are on you can cast voodoo to lock out your attackers but not all. Cast other voodoo to let them know it will cost them if they raid you. They will think twice.

Place a bounty on your attackers.

There are other ways but this should give you a base. Speak to other large traders as well

hmmmmmmm how much gold did you have on hand?

Sounds like both of you were in similar positions. Is there a lesson in there somewhere?
