Role-Play Catastrophes Across Avonmora.

Time for a new RP. Rules are as follows. This one is a 4-so very unrealistic

1. Try to keep things in character. Don't post something unrelated to the RP here. If you don't like this RP, don't complain about it here. Post a new thread or start your own RP thread if you don't like this one. I would actually be quite happy if someone posts a RP of their own so please feel free to do so.
2. You can control your characters actions-You can not control others. NPC's are fair game and anyone can control them, so long as its believable and in character. A guard for example shouldn't just up and decide to shoot an orphan for no reason-that is out of character. Anyone without a name will be considered a NPC, if you name a character but want it to be a NPC then just mention that said character is NPC in quotation marks after a post.
3. You are allowed to have multiple characters- but be reasonable. Don't flood the story with a bunch of your characters. 2 or 3 in one story is fine, anything past that is sort of pushing it unless you are really good at managing them.
4. Use Italics for actions, and try to separate things nice and neat. Also use paragraphs when needed. Quotations if for speaking out of the roleplay.
5. No editing of a post once you post it. The exception is to fix spelling mistakes or minor errors. It can be real annoying when someone posts one thing and another responds to it only to find what they responded too is now completely different.
6-Do not act on knowledge you know but your character doesn't- If for example Character A is being attacked in the tavern, and your character is in the church, you can't have your character suddenly rush to the tavern to help unless you can give a reason WHY he knows what is happening or he is rushing to the tavern.
7. The most important rule- Have fun.

Next post begins the story.

Brian and Carl are sitting in Oggie's taven on Valorim, waiting for their friends to come in and share a few drinks. Things have been very boring for them lately. And for some reason Emily has sealed off the way to her lair, and refuses to speak to them. On top of that, Ellen hasn't appeared in some time either. The 2 begin to think that perhaps they did something to upset them. Carl looks to Brian and says somewhat sadly.

You think it was cause I called her moppet? Didn't think she'd take it so badly. Still hurts to sit after she lit my arse on fire.

Brian shrugs.

Doubt it. But who knows.

Fr. Michael enters the tavern with two young men in their late teens, both of which are dressed in cassocks. Upon seeing them, the priest smiles

Good day to you both, fine weather outside isn't it?

Brian nods.

It is. Jack gonna come by? Rather bored honestly. Kinda hoping he has some adventure planned. Emily's holed up in her castle and won't let anyone go down there or speak to anyone. If I didn't know she can't die id be worried.

The priest shakes his head.

Jack is currently talking with some important people, he called them "lords" but I'm quite sure they're not noble.

The priest gestures to the young men.

These are seminarians Jacob and Henry, they have decided to give up much of the worldly pleasures, and become Holy priests, who will serve this community and others across Avonmora.

The priest gives a slightly annoyed look at them, they grin.

...Provided one starts studying and the other stops daydreaming far to much!

The priest chuckles a bit and turns to Brian.

Though on a side note, Jack's meeting will be over in around 15 minutes, and he may wish to go pillaging for a few hours.

Carl looks a bit confused as he takes a drink before speaking

You know, I gotta ask, why do you associate with him? I mean I'm not exactly the most knowledgeable on the bible or religion-I'm a pretty dumb man honestly, cant even read, but I'm pretty sure I remember my local pastor growing up told me tis a sin to steal and to kill.

Brian laughs.

I asked Ellen that ages ago. She said he did enough good in her opinion to balance out the bad. Though she did dislike what he did.

The priest shrugs

Well, I associate with him firstly because he is my friend, a childhood friend. Secondly, be needs help, so I try to help him. And about his actions, I've been trying to get him to direct his piracy at somebody who in a way, deserves it. Many of the biggest merchants in Avonmora, in fact ALL of them, are pirates themselves, their governments don't care about them. Jack focuses his efforts on stealing from them, they often exploit the poor. He also attacks slave ships, which are richly laden but also carry human cargo, whom he saves from their demise, and offers them jobs, or if they do not want a place in his fleet, he releases them. He also is going to be attacking merchants from the Far East, moors. Not because of race or religion mind you, but because they carry slaves, most of them Christians, but some of other faiths, he wishes to save them, but also to destroy their commerce. The eastern commerce.

Carl thinks for a moment as he takes a drink.

You know, Emily sure is lucky. If she wants free labor she can just build a golem to do it. Don't need to eat, sleep or drink, stronger then a person and won't try to escape. Maybe when she starts speaking with us again i might ask her for a few golems.

the priest nods.

Aye. Jack and hates slavery, as do I. Jack would rather there be golems instead of Slaves, at least on some level.

Brian nods

Though too many golems could stop others from getting work. But they do a fine job. They built that church of mine next to the cave and some of the buildings on the island. Well before Emily took them all deeper underground. You know Michael, just between us, Emily actually made me some special golems a while back, they look just like normal angel statues and they stand on both sides of the altar over in my church-but if anyone causes trouble inside the building they come alive and toss them out. Make great guards and good decorations, if you ever want a few to watch your church while your out I could see if Emily could make a few more. Again, when she starts to speak to us. Me and Carl should just go and bang on her door til she answers if this keeps up honestly.

Carl laughs.

I remember those angel statues, I once had one too many drinks, and went into your church, ended up vomiting on the altar by accident, those things grabbed me and threw me out the front door and locked it. Hilarious.
