So BigTea makes a suggestion to add positive bounties and it gets approved, others make the exact same proposal and it gets shot down? I am going to vent here and will probably get censured in some way for it. Completely fine by me.

So I go into community chat today to talk to CJ. We all got the "event" in our news today. I asked 3 or 4 questions, made 3 or 4 comments and got absolutely no response. The SHM and PhoenixKnight simply sign in and get welcomed by CJ before they even comment. It really seems that unless your ID # is below 40k, you get little to no recognition and your opinions don't matter.

I do love the fact that admin is involved with the player base in this game, and I respect the opinions of the "old-timers" in the game also but how long does someone need to play before we get respect? How much does someone need to spend out of pocket before they get recognized as a contributor to the game. I have been playing now for going on 15 months. I sign on every day, contribute every day, I am active in forums. Already I have been told by CJ that I have not been here long enough to know certain things.

Sorry to call you out CJ but damn....... sir it seems there is a bit of bias coming from you.

No offense intended here Feniks, but I do not see the bias. He did mention your time here was not long enough to know some things, and just because an idea was shot down in the past does not mean it is not a viable one to implement in the future as things change and others revealed more clearly.

15 months is small to my 4.5 years, and my time is still very short in comparison to BS, SHM, Lowe, and Phoenix. Some of my questions were not answered either but in a free flow chat where several people are talking and asking questions at once it makes it difficult to keep up, and avoiding the easy no questions is sometimes the most efficient route to take.

I disagree completely. at the time i posed them there were only 5 or 6 active in the chat....... in other words.... they were seen and ignored.

And on the other point, my question is valid, how long do you have to be here to get some respect from admin then? Because it would be nice to know at what point i can make suggestions that would be taken seriously.

I doubt there are very many players that are as active as I am in this game.

Feniks, first you are wrong as the idea has not been approved. Here is my full reply:

Captain Jack wrote:-let me check this request now
-well, the system supports it but it messes with statistics
-so we cannot implement it just as it is

How different is really this response from the one I gave to Dez? The difference I see now, is that at Dez case, the response was far superior and detailed whereas this response was the product of a quick check. Do you think I remembered the request? How long ago that request is? I just reviewed it once again, live, in short time.

For the rest, I was forced to go back in history and check your questions as I really do not want to wrong anyone. I might have missed a few of your questions, that's true but I also responded to some. Same goes for every other player in the chat.

There is no special treatment depending on ID and I read and take in mind every opinion.

If I have to explain anything then there are two things:
-First Wolfie, I feel I might have been a bit too open in the way I approached his reservations on gameplay. Reading it now, this is not the way a community administrator should react. It helps though that I have spoken with Wolfie already multiple times in the past and I feel relative intimacy.
-Secondly, players like PK, SHM and generally anyone who has helped game development in the past. Do you know how helpful such players have been? At times I feel like we owe to them for their aid, not only in PMs but mainly in forums. They deserve recognition. Not at your expense though and I am sorry you felt this way.

As for the greets, I was greeting anyone I noticed the time he got in. Chill out.

You are proving my point.... they were helpful in the past. But how can others get to that point if we are not even acknowledged. This isn't the first time I have felt this way sir, and I usually let it slide. I am not one to bitched unless i think things are over the top. I made a comment about some obvious multi account activity during vudu/merc conflict and you basically told me my opinion didn't matter because i haven't been here long enough. Now I admit sometimes communication can be misconstrued but it sure as hell came across that way.

I admit i read suggestions by SHM, PK, and the lot more carefully than others because they have the wisdom of time, but that does not mean I ignore everyone else's comments and suggestions.

I understand some have helped more than others in game development, but that doesn't mean those of us that weren't here "at the beginning" deserve less respect. Sorry, that is what seems to be happening.

I have been here 14 months 8 day today, nearly 1000 posts in forum, active 12 plus hours a day in game, I play every aspect of the game which is obvious by stats and achievements.

If we go by this I should be pissed at CJ due his response twoards my opinion and yet I laughed it off with no ill intentiones as I could have my sentences formed better way but as non english speaker with decent hate twoards grammar due school and teachers I get that my sentences can be interpreted in a different way than their true intentions

Like CJ said me and him go way long due me being here almost 3 years we spoke a lot privately and he knows quiet a lot about me in game and in RL.

The discussion of not knowing part of the game is crap in my opinion. I know how the markets work, specifically to the point of where one can earn credits without actually buying them. I know it works as I have probably made about 400-500 credits just selling Voodoo in a few weeks, and have never spent any real money on the game. It's great that someone had made 30k in credits without every buying them; however, that does not mean that everyone is raking it in on the markets. There are limitations to the markets based on supply and demand. Those limitations are a reality. Not everyone can be on top. Gaps will naturally exist. To say there aren't any or to ignore them because there exists means to close them shows a lack of reality.

Yes, goals change. Features that may once be seen as an absolute no, can turn into a possibility. However, in the instance of how the discussion was flowing it was noted that the discussion was all over the place and hard to get thoughts out before the topic changed. It was all but ignored with:

no need to focus I believe
let's let this discussion flow
all matters brought are equally important
and you deserve to know details
as most of you have been playing and supporting the game for years

As I saw it, my opinion was to an extent ignored, which is fine. I don't own the game. CJ and the development staff don't work for me. But if this is a community discussion on development, everyone's point of view should be heard out.

As for the suggestion made by Bigtea, the interpretation of CJ's response I read was positive in respect to his suggestion. I don't expect CJ or anyone else to remember every suggestion made and by whom, but somethings are down heartening when ideas proposed by you are ignored, or shot down, and then someone else suggests an identical idea and they are received in a more positive light.

posted this in my guild, then thought I would share it here also

copy of my guild posts

For those that feel they are being ignored.

fyi - 90% of my suggestions, and messages to admin get no response.
I am of the opinion that they actually see at least 75% of it. Based upon things they discuss later.

They print out forum posts and review them.
Take peoples ideas and think about developing them.

6 months to a year later you might see a development idea based upon your suggestion
appear in future development discussion.
That may be the first time your idea ever gets acknowledged.

would be nice if they (admin) responded a bit more to suggestions and ideas when they first come up though.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just a suggestion - I realize that sometimes it is slow and there is plenty of time to read and respond.
Other times suggestions are coming from all over the place. I also realize that it is not always possible
to respond or comment on all ideas in the moment and some are better left to see the overall player base
opinion first.

Maybe it would be useful just to create an admin only emoticon to make a simple post showing you
are following discussion thread even though you may not be commenting.

Fenkis, I get how you can feel it. CJ is only human and between the 1000 posts and messages he is bound to miss some.

As for shot down suggestions, yes it happens. Many get shotdown and some get revived when circumstances change. Some has been around for years.
It may seem unfair to the original suggestor, but life is also about the right time. Leonardo Da Vinci has great ideas but was not in the right time to create them fully.

I have had many ideas shotdown but nothing compared to the king of voodoo suggestions!!

The official development for Plantations started during the summer months. I do not think most realize how big feature this is and how many side-requirements it has.

I will remind you that back then, the top issue we had was how to make the King role more important than Governor role and today, we reached a point that we should not give more perks to Kings, after the projected Pacts management that they will also possibly get.

That's progress and it is difficult progress. I have a printed post here, with William one Eye suggestion about how King will appoint Governors. It's dated at June 12, 2017. These are the preliminary talks. This issue is resolved now although there is an asterisk of adding scripted payments from governors to King in exchange for the port. This can happen already but when a scripted way exists, it pushes the functionality to happen. Important; back then we did not even know which the 1.9 feature will be. How fast you think all these can come into play? Take in consideration what has been implemented already. Our pace has dropped lately (although to be frank, only in comparison to our standards) but it is also because of the necessity to deliver a ready to work feature, not a feature you can work on it in stages (like nation diplomacy).

Suggestions are read based on 2 priorities:
A)Community Reception
The first you need to show off your idea is the community itself. Once it becomes popular, it gets relative priority and attention. At times, we might post in a suggestion early on, either randomly or because the idea is really good. That's the exception though and has nothing to do with who posts it.

B)Whether or not it fits with current planning
If we are developing national related features, like we do now while targeting an economy feature such as Plantations, then obviously it is not the right time to also start developing a battles feature. As a result, relative suggestions will not receive immediate interest.
