With Admin’s permission, I would like to start a fundraiser for a grand prize for the first player with ID above 99,999 who spends over 1000 turns to get.
Since there is no garauntee that player 100,000 themselves staying, I am designating it towards whoever actually stays with 1000 turns as a measure of commitment

Good idea, silly metric.
The player could just waste turns to win.
They should accomplish something solid.
Technically though new player missions give prizes already for putting in effort.

My thought is crossing the 100K players is a milestone as it transitions the game to a new digit in the IF system.
I am open to suggestions on the metric

First player to get married after 100000
Gets wedding presents.
Continues for all new players after.
This is my refinenment of an idea
Suggested by shadowood a while back.
Would help with retention and new player interaction
With guilds and community.
Wedding gifts.
For first wedding only
A wedding announcement in Global events
Wedding registry with the following 25 Gift options
and 10 buried treasure casts
all gifts and buried treasures are NPC paid.
like a registry once a player has sent a gift is is removed from the registry
universal registry - the wedding couple does not choose this list
5 gift cards - only 1 per wedding guest
15 gift credits - only 1 per wedding guest
2 lvl 1 brigs -only 1 per wedding guest - generated as a new ID# ship
2 lvl 1 lmm -only 1 per wedding guest- generated as a new ID# ship
pair of tail ships 1 sloop 1 howker - gifted as a pair ( considered a single gift) - generated as a new ID# ship
10 buried treasure casts are available for those who prefer to send cash
or arrive after all gifts have been given.
- only 1 per wedding guest
Guest can only send 1 gift - not 1 gift from each or different categories
I see all of my suggestion being very helpful to new players, It will also encourage new players to get out and meet other players so they have some friends to attend their wedding. Iron golems are also a possibility, however without a suitable warehouse, they are not helpful, so I left them off.
Note 100000 is a ways off, so if this was implemented before that we could come up with something else for after 100000 player.

Not to dampen the mood on this, but wasn't there a topic created by the Admins about preventing IDs from reaching the 100k mark.

don't see how they can stop it. I mean they could flush all the inactives who havnt made any impact out, and then rearrange id's. but that would just buy time, and also cause quite a bit of confusion for a while. Another would be to start using letters in place of numbers but again that would be more confusing then helpful.

Last time I checked, admins did not have a mechanism to do that

It's not hard to start giving random IDs from those players that are no longer around. The hard part is to do it in a structured way, also allowing existing players to rearrange their ids.
We are just sceptical on getting such high IDs in the game when the players -with an existing character- are around 15 000

It will start to get confusing as to who is new though without rearranging all active IDs.
Let’s take me for example, I would assume anyone with player ID 21800 is older than I am. But if a random assignment gives that ID to a new person, my treatment will be different as I will not automatically consider him new. If the currently active 15000 players are reassigned to 1-15000 and any new player gets above 15000, then that is a different thing
