Once you had found this game, why did you decide to stay?

Being here in this forum, and playing this game, means that there must have been a past day in which you found this game, you registered to give it a try, and then you decided to stay.
Why did you decide to stay (for the general theme, or the graphic interface, the flags, the map, or the tutorial...)
Not the features you discovered as time went by, but just the first impression that made you think to keep playing instead of looking for another game.

For me it wasn't a guild or training guild. It wasn't someone helping me with gold. It was a single person who took the time to explain a few things to me. Training guilds have a place, but honestly, individuals are more important.

Mmm. Well, at first it was the challenge, then it was the people and relative ease of the game.
Interaction between admin and players

Multifaceted approaches to playing. Points of self-sustainment in game play (Trade Routes remain active for 7 days from last login, unless attacked). Game features that take time to develop. Not a click, click, click, for a few hours, and I've maxed out what I can do unless I spend real money.
Basically, it is a long term playing game. Not a game for the instant gratification crowd.

I stayed because Malachi Constant was the one who inspired me to keep playing this game, and the players I have met here inspire me to keep in this game. Despite the addiction this game is, I like it for the deep math and principals that go into the game itself. It's well worth playing

I've always wanted to be a famous pirate, and this game provided that opportunity. It has also a ton of cool features and things you can do, so I will stay, hopefully for a few years
