Okay this shall be a new role play that I hope many players will participate in. This one will have a rule that things must be realistic- most of the time anyway I won't mind if someone does something a tad bit unrealistic, so long as its not ridiculous and they don't do it repeatedly.
For example saying your character fought 4 guards in a swordfight and killed them all with only minor injuries I would allow, but don't do such things repeatedly.
The rules are as follows.
1. Try to make things believable and keep to the theme. No aliens, no cowboys, etc. Though supernatural things are fine-Voodoo, and ghosts for example. Mermaids are also fine along with any other myths common at this time period. Just don't fill the story with it.
2. Try to keep things in character. Don't post something unrelated to the RP here. If you don't like this RP, don't complain about it here. Post a new thread or start your own RP thread if you don't like this one. I would actually be quite happy if someone posts a RP of their own so please feel free to do so.
3. You can control your characters actions-You can not control others. NPC's are fair game and anyone can control them, so long as its believable and in character. A guard for example shouldn't just up and decide to shoot an orphan for no reason-that is out of character.
4. You are allowed to have multiple characters- but be reasonable. Don't flood the story with a bunch of your characters. 2 or 3 in one story is fine, anything past that is sort of pushing it unless you are really good at managing them.
5. Use Italics for actions, and use Quotation marks for speaking. Also use paragraphs when needed.
5. The most important rule- Have fun.
Rule 6-same as rule 1 but since this RP is planned to be much more realistic I feel it needs to be reemphasized-keep things mostly believable-the occasional exaggeration is fine so long as its somewhat reasonable.
Rule 7-This role play I decided is going to be happening at the same time as the other. So therefore NO characters in the other story can be used here.
Next post starts the RP

In the port of Tzogos, a young man by the name of Brian is currently on business. He is here on business for Sister Ellen to begin working on opening a new orphanage in the port. However upon arriving he has had nothing but bad luck. He was robbed by pickpockers, attacked by several drunken sailors, and a seagull pooped on his head. He sighs as a heavy rain begins to pour, soaking him wet in an instant.
Apparently the port has had trouble with thieves for a while now, robbing visitors and bribing guards to look the other way. The thieves are part of a gang called The Thorakas Terrors, and have begun expanding into various other crimes- blackmail, kidnapping, and even murder. The governor offers no rewards for any of them-and it has become clear to everyone he is in cahoots with them.
Brian enters a brothel that also serves as a tavern called The Winking Whore. The bartender is thankfully friends with him, so he offers free drink and board to Brian. He drinks quite heavily lamenting his rotten luck.

Brian looks at the man who just entered, but shrugs and goes back to his drink. Though he stays on guard. With the luck he has been having for all he knew that man was planning to kill him next. The bartender looks to the man and says in a gruff voice.
Oy, Mate, clean that damn thing before you get blood everywhere, or I'm gonna have to ask ya to leave. And no fighting in the pub just so ya know. If you wanna fight do it outside.

Hey there, names Brian, if you don't mind me asking who's blood did you spill?

A shot is heard outside and a commotion ensues. 3 young men run past the windows of the tavern, one is carrying a pistol. A second shot rings out. The young man carrying the pistol lunges forward and falls face first to the ground. The back of his pants leg starts to turn red with blood as he lays crying in pain.
A man wearing an overcoat limps past the window and over to the wounded man. He takes a knee and rolls the young man over on to his back. He quickly searches through the young man's pockets. Not finding what he is looking for, the man retrieves a pistol from under his overcoat and puts it to the young mans chest. The man in a deep raspy voice speaks
Where is it?
The young man clutching his leg in pain says
I didn't do anything and I don't know what you are talking about.
The man moves the pistol down to the young man's gut and replies
You stole a key from my room last night and you shot me when I asked you about it in the alley. That qualifies as you doing something. Now, your wound to your leg won't kill you and you will likely be able to walk still, but where I shoot you next will leave you wishing you never met me. Now where is it?
The man lowers the gun to the young mans groin. Fear and panic runs over the young mans face.
I..I......don't have it. Th.....the oth..ers took your key. Please don't shoot me down there.
The man cocks the pistol and replies
Where are they?
The young man cries in mercy.
PLEASE.....
The man replies while pushing the pistol into the young mans groin
Where....
Are....
They?
The young man screams and begs
The Church... THE CHURCH.... For GOD's SAKE PLEASE....WE ARE USING THE CHURCH...
The man pulls back the pistol from his groin and stands holding the pistol down his side.
See, that wasn't too hard now, was it?
The young man sobbing and clutching his leg with one hand and covering his groin with his other looks at the man but says nothing.
The man turns toward the tavern door and starts to limp towards it, holstering his pistol.
The man stops after a few steps. Turns around and walks back towards the young man.
The young man yells out
SCREW YOU, I TOLD YOU EVERYTHING I KNOW.
The man looks at the young amn
I know, but I can't have you letting them know you gave them up.
The young man screams NO as the man quickdraws his pistol and shoots the young man in the head.
The man holsters his pistol and limps into the tavern taking a seat at a table. He begins to check the wound on his leg.

Brian looks at the man, and he calls out to him
Looks like you had a bit of trouble with thieves too. Though I'm rather surprised they actually shot you. But they have been getting worse lately. If you want any help fighting them I'm willing to help-bastards stole from me too and I would really like to get my gold back.
Brian takes a drinks but the bartender speaks up.
You mean you would like to get Ellen's gold back. She gave you that gold to open a orphanage here.
Brian stares at the bartender and replies.
Damn it Burt I really gotta stop telling you my problems. Your such a bloody blabber mouth.
Burt laughs.
Only when it comes to messing with you.

Burt sets a place at a nearby table, and sets several large drinks and food on it. He then says in a somewhat happy voice.
The 2 of you who killed thieves and my buddy Brian can get free drinks, food and board here. Damn thieves are costing my quite a pretty penny. Worthless governor won't do squat about it- bas-tard probably gets a cut, hell if those thieving vermin are based in the church then the bloody priest might be on it too.
Burt shakes his head.
This bloody port has gone to the dogs. Hope you folks stay awhile and kill some more thieves.
