This Roleplay is going to be a completely New story unrelated to the previous ones. Though you may still use characters that were in the old stories if you wish, just explain how and why they showed up in this story.

Once again I plan to try using Entry Events(EE for short). In case you are unaware of what EE is, It is essentially an idea I had to try to help those who are not very used to RP's to enter a character into the story by having an event happen that provides numerous ways to enter.

Now the Rules for this RP are as follows.
1. Try to make things believable and keep to the theme. No aliens, no cowboys, etc. Though supernatural things are fine-Voodoo, and ghosts for example, just don't fill the story with it.
2. Try to keep things in character. Dont post something unrelated to the RP here. If you don't like this RP, don't complain about it here. Post a new thread or start your own RP thread if you don't like this one.
3. You can control your characters actions-You can not control others. NPC's are fair game and anyone can control them, so long as its believable and in character. A guard for example shouldnt just up and decide to shoot an orphan for no reason-that is out of character.
4. You are allowed to have multiple characters- but be reasonable. I myself currently have 2. Ellen, the main, and Brian a lesser character. I may add more in the future, but i do not think i will ever go beyond 5, or at least not use 5 or more in one story.
5. After going through some of the other RP's again, I have decided to try to help keep things more Legible, and space things out a bit more.
Use Italics for actions, and use Quotation marks for speaking. Also use paragraphs when needed. So if your post is more then 4 sentences, create a separate paragraph.
5. The most important rule- Have fun.

The next post begins the story.

The port city of Tortuga has been having the absolute worst of luck. Pirates have been raiding almost every single merchants on route to it, hurting the local businesses, the navy lost almost all their ships due to a horrible hurricane the month prior, preventing them from hunting the pirates, many of the local blacksmiths have gone out of business, hurting their tool production, and there have been rumors of a potential takeover of the port from another nation or the nearby pirates.

The Governor, a young inexperienced man by the name of Phillip, has decided to try to help save the port to begin hiring bounty hunters and mercenaries. He offers 1000 gold per pirate ship sunk, and 500 for each pirate captain brought in-dead or alive. Meanwhile at a tavern in one of the worst parts of town called Neptune's Nook, The Bartender, a very old, very large hairy man by the name of Burt is serving the days customers. The Walls of the tavern are old, and covered almost wall to wall in wanted posters. Almost all of different pirate captains ravaging the seas nearby. Burt stands behind his bar serving all the scum who come in looking for a drink. The new barmaid he hired delivering rum and food to anyone who sits away from the bar. A young looking lass, just over 18 by the looks of it by the name of Emily. She had raven black hair, and dark blue eyes. She watched the door curious as to who would come in next.

The characters for this initial EE could be a local citizen, a pirate, bounty hunters or mercenaries, or an original idea you come up with.

A couple of weeks ago, Captain jack teach and his buccaneers had sailed from Regis after taking complete control of it. Now they arrive. The pirates sail on Jack's flagship the Invincible, 100 gun ship of the line, stronger than most ships, almost impossible to shoot through. They also had sailed a couple of flag galleons. The pirates row ashore, Jack stands in the front of the rowboat as if he rules the place. Jack and his pirates enter the tavern, several pirates in the tavern cast uneasy glances as he walks in. Jack walks over to bar, takes his hat of off, revealing a red bandanna that covers long, brine filled dreadlocked hair. Jack strokes his goatee. Rum, if you please.

Burt, looks to Jack, and sets a very old dirty looking mug of cheap Rum in front of him. That will be 1 gold. Burt grunts. Emily comes over and quickly says to Jack as she grabs several mugs to deliver to a table. If you pay 2 gold he will give you a cleaner mug. Up to you. Burt grunts again and looks to Jack as he begins cleaning a mug with a rather filthy looking rag.

Burt looks at the coins, bites one, then walks to a nearby cabinet grabs a mug that only looks slightly dirty and fills it with a different kind of rum. Though it still looks like a cheap brand of. He hands it to Jack. He grunts and goes back to cleaning a mug with a filthy rag. A incredibly old pirate next to Jack looks at him and says in a gruff voice "They only got 3 kinds of rum and mugs here. Very cheap, dirty and nasty, Slightly less cheap, dirty and nasty, and just cheap, dirty and nasty. In case ye haven't noticed, this tavern is a very nasty one. Though it be the only one that serves people like us."The pirate nods to a nearby wall, with a wanted poster of both Jack and himself on it. It addresses him as Captain Harold. Wanted for piracy and littering. 1 gold dead or alive. He then continues to speak after he downs rum from a filthy looking mug. "Only 3 rules here, No stealing, No fighting, and no groping the bar maids. Also I recommend you down the rum quick. Less likely to taste it that way." He laughs as he continues downing more rum, as nearby Emily kills a rat, and begins to take it to the kitchen. Passing Jack she says to him "I do not recommend meals here unless your very desperate for food."

Jack takes a swig of rum, finding actually quite good, he decides to savor it. He looks at his massive bounty of 30,000,000 gc and compares it to Harold's tiny bounty. He compares his crimes as well, his inlcude piracy, smuggling, kidnapping, arson, sailing under false colors, buccaneering. This other pirate, is a joke. Jack turns to Harold. Sir, how the bloody hell did you even get a wanted poster? And why, sir, is your bloody bounty so damned small?

Harold laughs. Well it wasn't always small. Truth be told I retired from piracy about 30 years ago at age 70 after 50 years of piracy. Bounty was at 10 million gold at the time. Every so often a bounty hunter came by who I killed or evaded and I just spent all my time either in my nearby house, or in the pub. Eventually the local government realized I was done and didn't want to waste bounty hunters time on an old retired pirate spending all the day drinkin, but they also didn't want to absolve me of my crimes and lose face, so they just dropped the bounty to 1 coin and figured they would wait for me to drop dead. That was 20 years ago. The pirate reaches into his coat and takes out a very old wanted poster and shows it to Jack. The portrait is of a slightly younger but still old looking version of Harold. The bounty is 10M and the crimes the same. Harold drinks some more rum Truth be told I was rather happy they dropped the bounty to 1 gold. It's not easy being an old fart like me and fighting off young bounty hunters. A bit embarrassing I suppose, which is why I keep my old poster, to show young'un's like you and remind me of the good old days.

Harold cheers with him. I remember hearing about that. Your bounty probably isn't higher here due to the old feud between the governors. The last governor here, Phillips father Pedro, had his fiancée stolen by the old governor of Regis. After that anyone who did anything bad to Regis wouldn't have any bounty increase in Tortuga. The old pirate chuckles a little and whispers to Jack. Just between you and me, that fiancée of his was quite the beauty. I should know. I recall spending quite a few nights with her. The governor was so angry he considered raising my bounty to 50M, til someone reminded him if he did he would have to state WHY he raised it. Needless to say he didn't like the idea of admitting my romance with his lady to the whole port, so my bounty stayed the same. Harold puts a few more coins on the table and asks for a meal. A minute later Emily hands him a plate with a rather disgusting looking fried rat on it, with some gross looking sides of mush of who knows what. He digs in while Burt hands Emily more drinks to deliver. She says to Jack as she passes him "Believe it or not that's actually the best meal this place serves."
