Role-Play: The marketplace of Aiora

Postby Meliva » Sun Dec 17, 2017 1:47 am

Figured id go ahead and start my own RP thread, and give it a go, Copied the rules from the other post.

1) All non talking character actions and descriptions must be written in Italics.

2) Non-Italics is your character talking.

3) Keep full discussions limited to other players, if you converse with an NPC created for the storyline, you must also create their response. Responses must be appropriate for their character and backstory.

4) If you introduce a new NPC to the story that didn't previously exist, you must provide a basic backstory for them in the event another player interacts with them.

This role-play needs to be uniformed and I encourage you to use a character that fits the age of gunpowder era but that is not required. Additionally, do not post pictures here unless they pertain to the story. I encourage you to be vivid in your description of your character and actions. Fighting is aloud, violence is encouraged, ANYTHING too sexual or lewd will be reported.

Next post I make begins role-play!

At the Aioran marketplace, a young woman in a rather nice looking cloak is conversing with a shady looking individual, while looking out at the crowd. They spot a particularly well off man shopping alone, the woman winks to her friend and approaches the nobleman Greetings sir, I was curious as to if you were interested in a game of chance that very well could double your gold.Intrigued the man says for her to go on "Well you see, I believe that I can prove to you, for 1000 gold that you are not here." The man laughs, and quickly says he will take that bet the woman smiles "Well sir, tell me, are you at Tortuga?"the man says no "Well then are you in Tzogos perhaps?"The man again says no" Well are you in Thorokas?"Again the man says no "Well then if you are not in Tortuga, Tzogos or Thorokas you logically must be somewhere else, correct?"The man says yes "And if you are somewhere else you obviously can not be here."The man is dumbfounded for a minute, before laughing hands her the gold, and says I will need to remember that trick. "Well sir, my friend over there recently got quite the haul, and is rather slow, you could very easily get your gold back and then some."The man, eager to get earn some easy gold pulls the same trick on the man, and upon getting the gold from the man and putting it with his own, the man takes everything the man had to which he says he would have him hanged for theft, to which the man said, hold on, you just proved that I wasn't here didn't you? the man says yes. Well if I'm not here, then how the bloody hell did I steal from you. While the man stands there dumbfounded, the scoundrel and young woman scurry away to a nearby tavern chuckling the entire way.

A young man stands watching the scoundrel and young woman. He sighs and shakes his head, inwardly cursing them for getting to the merchant first. He wears an old leather tricorne, boots, frock coat, old vest and a couple weapons including cutlass and pistols. He begins to follow the direction of the two thieves, he walks in a drunken fashion, trying to avoid being to the wanted posters bearing his name: "Captain" Jack Teach. The poster lists crimes including Piracy, kidnapping, highway robbery, and extortion. He becomes less and less aware of the posters as he follows the thieves into the tavern, even standing next to one as he enters the tavern. Barman, rum if you please... Jack never takes his eyes off the two thieves, wondering who they are, and how they can help him...to get rich of course!

The barman, a middle aged man by the name of Arnold, who had run this tavern since his youth hands Captain jack a mug of rum and says that will be 2 gold, And upon seeing the young woman yells at her, you better have the money you owe me for the drinks you had last time Of course Arnie dear, heres the 28 gold.Arnie looks at the gold, and says now hold on, you owe me 7 gold for each bottle of Morgan Mead, for 13 bottles and that's a LOT more then 28"What, nonsense Arnie, I did the math exactly and that's what I owe ya, but if you need proof I can show ya, and if I'm wrong I pay ya 10 times what I owe ya, if I'm right drinks are free for the rest of the day."The barman agrees and the young woman smiles as she begins using division, and upon finishing the equation, it comes out to 28. The barkeep says hold on, try doing it with multiplication. Again the woman smiles, does some math and comes to 28. The barkeep finally says now hold on, lets try addition. This time the barkeep attempts to do that math himself, but the woman manages to trick him into once again getting 28 as the answer. Dumbfounded the barkeep looks at the math, while the woman laughs, takes her bottle of mead, and heads out with her friend, and on the way out she winks at Jack and says enjoy the drinks ya creepy stalker you, consider it reimbursement for beating ya to that score.she then dumps all the gold she conned into getting into a box labelled charity makes her way back to her ship, to move on to other ports, plenty more people to con out of money, and odds are people are starting to look for her now, so best move on out. The scoundrel on the other hand remains behind, and begins drinking out of his rum, while he watches his friend leave and takes a good look at Captain Jack before going back to his rum.

-Once again I wonder how many people get this reference.

Jack scowls at the woman leaving and turns back to his rum. He walks over to the scoundrel and sits next to him.
Who are you? And who's the friend?

A loud bang goes off nearby, and a thief comes out of an house, pistol smoking and his cloth splattered with blood, he is carrying a bag of stolen goods. The thief runs down the road until he is stopped by a steel plated hand, a young man, wearing a cloak that covers his body and face hurls the thief on the ground, the thief tries to run, but the young man loads his rifle and shoots him in the head. The man takes the bag and returns it to the house.
The young man walks in the bar and takes the cloak off his head, revealing an armored helmet beneath it.
Who’s this scoundrel, does he need to die?

The scoundrel looks at Jack and says Names Brian, the lady who just left, was Ellen. Well that's her name for now, lady changes her name more often then most ladies change their knickers. Never sticks around for long either, but when she drops by she normally has some sort of con to get some easy gold and often invites me or some other scoundrel she knows to help her for a cut, though she rarely keeps much of what we getThe man takes another swig of rum Mainly because she normally just cons her way into getting what she needs or wants. Ya oughta hear how she got her little cutter. Regardless I plan to take full advantage of a day of free drinks. The man downs the rest of his rum and orders another So what brings you to this little tavern, aside from stalking a couple of con artists.Brian hears the commotion, sees the armored man, and replies If your referring to me, I will have you know I haven't committed a crime in this port today. Cant commit a crime when I'm not even here the man chuckles to himself Regardless, I suggest you just sit down and get a nice drink. Its all on the house today, and it be far more fun drinkin then fighting in my opinion.the man says after finishing another mug and asking for a third.

Stopping by for resources, pirate activity has been higher than normal, Defense Corp has deployed 20 extra ships to stop the piracy.

Jack looks at the armored man and laughs. Stop piracy?! Jack bursts out laughing even harder. you and your defense corp will not be able to stop piracy, specially me. Jack takes a large swig. Savvy?

Well, we ain’t exactly sent to this area to hunt down all pirates, there is one who goes by the name of Arcus Mordon, has been raiding several military convoys and trade fleets, yesterday he attacked a small town and slaughtered its inhabitants. By any chance you know this filth?
