You have a sales pitch? Why? Remember, if people are not in the same guild/ nation with a person, they may not know much about them.

Rookie of the Year pick for me has to go to none other then "Banger"

Banger is an interesting player. He is 100% balls to the wall 100% of the time. The dude doesn't stop. This is both good and bad, but boy it makes for fun and interesting game play.

Banger started the game on day 1620.. On 1628, I invited him to VUDU as I saw a younger sailor eager to learn and grow. And boy did he.

He had a goal of having the largest war fleet/armada in the game. Against some advice, he made it happen. He had SOTL's in every port ready to attack. In less than a year, he sprung up on the MOST WINS LIST. Which he is currently 3rd, behind CDV and myself.

To cap that off, he stole 4 MoW this year. :pirateflag

Love or Hate him, Banger has made a splash in Avonmora.

I second Banger for 'Rookie of the year'.

I never know what to expect with Banger. One day he's your ally, the other day he's your enemy. A player that has learnt a lot in a short period of time. People fear him, as he's bold and doesn't care what people think or do, he'll go his own way anyway. One of many players I do not want to cross during times of war. I've had both good and bad experiences with Banger, and due to this, I have also learnt a lot from him. Therefor I see him as 'Rookie of the Year'.

This is a difficult category. How to compare a player who has played since January with a player who has only played since the summer?

In the spirit of this post, I will nominate not who I consider the "best player who joined this year", but a player who is still relatively new, but is learning and rising fast. Caladan started playing on day 1691, but had a slow start and joined T'zak Ryn first on day 1764. I consider this his "true" start date. This was during my absence, but when I returned, I saw a player who was active and had already learnt a lot. And T'zak Ryn is not the easiest guild to start in for new players.

Caladan proved his ability during his actions in USA, where he helped in a specific operation. He's risen to Marquess in several nations. He understands how his guild works, and has become part of the Team. He has shown both good abilities and high spirits in war. He can take a loss and laugh at it, and be right back fighting with a blink in his eye. He earned a "battlefield promotion" in T'zak Ryn for his performance during the ongoing war. I see Caladan as a rising star, who will become an even more important member of Team T'zak Ryn in the time to come.

I was thinking about nominating Caladan and Zeph who have both grew to be a formidable and competitive players on the top level of Avonmora, Banger has definitely made his mark in a big way and hopefully he will grow to be a more rounded player in the coming year.

But then, there is another young player who have made his mark this year, his ambitions was high and his way was never straight. Sometimes while stumbling and making some bad judgement people tend to be discourage and quit but this guy managed to learn and better his game. he might not seem as formidable and well rounded as Zeph and Caladan and didnt make the great apparent achievements Banger have but Sahqon Dovahkriid (Aka PFH) manage to single highhandedly lead a treasury raid, helped and tought many new players and have become a force for most that goes on in Avonmora. You might hate him or love him but PFH is my nomination to the Rookie of the year award for all around influence and making the game more interesting for us all.

I absoultely agree. We could also add The Accountant, but I hardly consider ham a "rookie" any more, despite him joining this year. He's simply too good for such a title. I chose to nominate Caladan rather than Zeph, simply because Caladan is a "newer" player, and thus even more fitting than Zeph for this award, in my opinon. Of course Zeph has done and learnt even more, but he's also been around for longer, and is less "rookie", in my opinion.
