Avonmora may have become boring

It may be that a shadow within the shadow has awakened.

Avon may seem to have become dull around the edges.

Is it just the calm before the storm, or is this the new way of life in Avonmora?

For now, sit back and tap another keg.

Nah a lot less action than before. Many players coming out that have never seen battle or even been plundered.

An odd scene a year ago.

I see this partly due to the death of FoX and pirate guilds in total.

I am glad someone has addressed such.

Pirate guilds are hard, however I have every bit of faith Vane could produce some more pirates in Avonmora.

The only real reason I could possibly give to why, Pirates have become somewhat extinct (Excluding Shadowood and Vane again) is due to it being easier to take the Merchant path. More profitable (With 200 ships you can make 5,000,000 a day) less risk (You do not have to run about with 500 danger, nor worry about people claiming there revenge) and more respect (I had a problem with this, however I realize now it was due to my 'bragging' in forums - You can still be respected as a Pirate, however its harder).

This is not me saying a Merchants life is better or worse then a pirates life. Merely me stating the reasons why old Seadogs have turned to the Merchant side. I am not bragging either - Merely addressing the problem, which I will be giving a resolution in the summer to the profit margin. When it comes to guilds like Dos says I believe I helped made Piracy extinct when I dropped 100 Million in bountys on Juicy - But that surely would not of affected him.

P.S I have no reason to join the pirate side again, merely stating I will help small pirates out in the summer. (Sorry Vane, you do not apply to my 'help' you rich bugger :D )

Well, perhaps the best way to generate the sort of excitement required is to start a nice phat war : but the issue for the more pirate-minded is that actually being in a war is not that profitable : far better is for others to be at war then the astute pirate will have lots of targets to go for all lit up at some-one elses expense : now, that IS profitable.
Well, that's the ideal scenario : guild wars kicking off every week and pirates growing fat off the rich plunder thus provided : but like I said, actually being in a war is not very profitable, (unless one side is so weak as to be rapidly de-fleeted but, meh, that's the war over far too soon for the interested onlooker), so there is a major lack of incentive to be engaging in one.
Which leaves the third option : provoking a war between two guilds or nations, and hoping to then profit from the chaos : that's been done a fair bit, to varying degrees of success : alas, it does require some investment in time, coin, voodoo and patience so requires a piratical soul with some considerable assets and skill.
And there is your Catch-22 : to get those assets means either investing serious real money in credits or building a trading empire to generate the in-game coin required : and once you have your empire, its a brave soul who will dismantle it, end that lovely income stream and risk it all on the hope of starting a big enough conflagration to gain a return on the investment.

A very good analysis, Danik!

(I would have sent it in a private message, but it seems I'm still on your blacklist, for some reason).

There are no pirate guilds who instigate what Danik says. Maybe there is a correlation between the fall of Organized pirate guilds and wars in Avonmora.

The gameplay can be a little slow, I don't care for intense raids. The thing I believe I miss the most is the forum activity and back and forth jabs that came along with it.
