I believe it is an eagerly awaited useless game killer : change is needed as Mrs Miggins Finest Kind Pie Shoppe doesnt accept notes...

Instead of a poll. Can we hear the criticism towards it? Not very constructive.

honestly i cannot fully oversee the outcome :)
i fear it will bring inflation to lots of normal voodoo cards and with that the legendary cards get cheaper.
all products create a market. a player with a witch hut will create cards to get his investment back. so these cards will not too hard to get. with the demand of normal cards going up, so will the price of those.
Most legendaries require voodoo that is already used frequently and priced over 1 credit the card. i'd rather had the below the credit cards consumed in the witchhut to boost their price and to keep the price of purify or mindbar etc. unchanged.

change in a game is needed to keep the attraction going, but there is also change addiction which will demand more change faster. the exitement of the witch hut will be for a small period of time only. and the real value to the game is imo quite low. it will bring a 20 to 30 more cards in the game. but really, thats it!'

port buildings and battles would be a real addition to the game, not a hyper extention of what is but unchartered waters.

that said, i am not against the legendary cards :) like i am also not against the tide coming in. it will happen and we'll adjust to the new situation. i am confident that the development team will try to create a balanced set of cards and that CJ will make scrutinize them again. a test realm to experiment would be nice.

Is it Eagerly Awaited? I think by some, it is. As most new features would be.

Is it Useless? I guess that depends on the point of view. The game itself is useless, from a certain perspective. The Hut will bring new elements to the game. With them, probably new opportunities and new challenges.

Is it a Game Killer? It could be, if the wrong card suggestions were accepted. I think we will be able to avoid that by openly discussing each card, and arguing for and against them (a simple "-1" or "+1" is not very helpful). If we can weed out the worst suggestions, I don't think it will be a game killer.

Is it a "Change Needed"? Again, what is "needed"? Is the game itself "needed"? In this context, I think for something to be "needed", it would be due to some shortfall in the game as it is, and a suggested rule change which would remedy said shortfallings. I DO think the game has certain shortfallings, specifically the low combat activity, which I see as a consequence of little incentive for combat. This suggestion will not alter that, though. So, no, I do not see the Witch Hut as a change needed.

The real question should be, of course: Will the witch hut make the game more fun? It is hard to foresee every consequence before it is implemented, and the effects will obviously depend on what cards become available, but I hope that yes, it WILL make the game more fun.

Ah, the ceaseless demand for change : I've watched this game change massively over the past few years and most of it has been worth squat : we are under the burden of two opposing forces : one wants more action, more wow, more pow, more fun! : the other wants more depth, more strategy, more variety, more fun!
No game-maker has ever resolved that problem : its why we have categories like RTS and RPG and very, very few crossovers or full blends of those genres : one doesnt allow for the other.
I favor RTS -style games : there are few of them online and the few there are seem to be chasing the market by trying to become RPG's or appeal to those kind of players : worse, the player-base themselves seem to want them to become RPG-style games : they may love Pirates Glory, but still they will destroy it and turn it into every other online RPG to 'save' it.
That may well be the devs wish, it may well be the majority of the players wish : its not mine though, and I dont have to be here to 'enjoy' these changes which do so little to thrill me and so much to irritate me.
You want these suggestions discussed in depth? If I spend 10 minutes on each of the constant stream of them, I waste hours and hours of my online time reading, responding, read the response to the response, responding to that on each and every one of them? There are dozens of them! : I need a full-on database just to keep track of it all : its a game I play, not a fecking wiki I am writing!
You need patience to fully play a good RTS : I'm running out of patience with what is become yet another bog-standard RPG.

I'd like that, too. What would you propose to do to achieve this? Personally, I think "Enhanced supply and demand" would move the game in that direction.

Also, I agree that reading through all the Legendary card suggestions DOES take a lot of time. I've done so in the hope that it will make the end result better, though. Get rid of the silly suggestions and keep, maybe improve, the nice ones.
