2016 Player of the year: Nominations

Postby Haron » Sun Jan 01, 2017 7:33 pm

And so, a year is over and a new one has just started. I thought it would be a good idea to look back at 2016, and think of everyone who has contributed to making the game fun. And so I will start a vote for "player of the year", after a preliminary round of nominations. I do NOT want a list of "best pirates", "most gold earned", "most ships stolen", "smartest trader" or anything like that. I want nominations for the player who most have helped making Avonmora a better, more fun place.

So: Post your nominations! A name, and a reason why this player deserves the title "player of the year", is all that is needed. In a weeks time, nominations will end, and the voting will start. Have fun! :-)

I would like to nominate Avery. He made things fun when the situation was at worst.

I hope this nominates more unique players than the cookie cutter nominations.

All have been active in suggestions and trying to improve the game and I have been most impressed by these 3 since my return. I am probably missing someone, apologies.

Veteran (playing more then 1 year) - Charles Vane. Very active. Does what he says he will do. Held a pirate port. Dangerous.

Seasoned sailor (playing most of 2016) - Haron. Very active. Has great mind for game mechanics (can sometime over think ideas), runs a successful business within the game and helps new players

Rookie of the Year - (playing less then 6 months) - Maha. Again very active. Great questions and great mind for game mechanics.
I don't fear death. I look forward to it with great anticipation. For then I will met God face to face and let him know that I stole his Man of War!!!

I believe Shadowood deserves the title for his many contributions to the game including the fantasy draft game.

I want to nominate Mugiwara for rookie of the year. He has already shown his ability to quickly learn the complicated features of the game and has been active in game improvement suggestions already. In 3 weeks he's managed to rise through the ranks of HELM faster than anyone before, he's gathered a sizable trade fleet and posted 84 times in the forum. I believe he's someone to watch in this new year.
