The Hidden Chest, Inn; pt. 2

In order to tell this story properly, one must go back to the beginning.

A sailor, who left everything behind to seek adventure in a new land is the character.

The tale, told by a passersby who sat and lived.

Day 1:

I began my journey in a land far from the one we are in now, I was a sailor, under the command of gentry, but, I lacked my own sophistication, thus barring my own ambitions. I jumped ship with my captain's lockbox, sold its contents and bought a ticket to a new land.

Many had told tales of this land, a place called Avonmora, it's hub Aiora... they always spoke of this land as either a place of hell on earth, or a land in which you make yourself.

I decided to barter my way onto a barbadan barge headed to Aiora.

The helmsman, hesitant to accept my boarding pass, seeing my plain appearance, finally let me on board when I flashed a dagger, hidden within the folds of cloth on my chest.

We set sail that night, and I slept well for many hours.

I woke to the sound of seagulls and a churchbell, I thought, surely it would not be Aiora?

I moved from my hammock to the gangway, up and onto to the deck. I recoiled slightly from the change in light, and looked around, squinting.

I saw barbadan flags, and coat of arms all around, pasted upon many purple-dyed sails and bows. I gaped in awe the sight of a very wealthy town, surrounded by enormous walls of pure, white marble.

As we approached the docks, the churchbell sounded again, and my eyes were drawn to it's maker. A magnificent bell was strung on a high watchtower, it glittered in the light from the Sun, emitting a glowing resonance of beauty through the air.

Once the helmsman docked, I stepped off onto my new adventure, and looked around.

The dock floors, solid mahogany, the roads, paved with grey streaked, polished stones gave a sense of wonder, and hope.

I started walking towards the bell tower I saw from the sea, and saw on my left, and my right, many men, women, and children, all dressed in splendid garb of velvet and furs, adorned with gold and precious gems. I felt quite underdressed, but, as the sailor I was, I walked forward with confidence, albeit warily.

Surely with such wealth they must be up to some nefarious deed here, they are not kings after all. As I walked I looked up and saw a sign teetering on the light breeze from the sea, it was a wooden sign of a bosom in a red dress, underneath it's provocative symbolism, it read "The Hidden Chest, Inn"

Smelling a great scent from inside it's warm reaches, I reached to open the door.

I fell forward suddenly, as a man pressed a pistol into my back, grunting "Outsiders aren't welcome here" with a rum soaked rasp.

Then, BANG, the smell of powder and a gasp.

The man fell to the side with a hole in his own back... a note was pinned to his lapel, "His, is now yours. Capn Jack"

I was stunned... but, I'm an opportunist, I took his pocket's contents and entered the Inn.

Like the finest of Morgan's Rum, the draught called "Lily of Death" takes time to mature. Only 1 casket can be opened per week. The next one will be opened today at 412 Dungeness Lane, at the Hidden Chest Inn in Aiora's port district

Heading for Aiora, then. Hope I can find 412 Dungeness Lane without being robbed first...
