I am now a retired pirate. I have chosen to go back to the good ol' ways of trading.

So Avery retires and then you retire a day later. Hmmmm
Or is it becaus you ran out of HNs.
Judging by your voodoo chest I say both. Sad that you can't make it as a pirate on your own

I've raided you with HNs for fun, not for raiding. Avery has helped me with defleeting raids, but I have defleeted my own targets with a lot of my own voodoo with a my own turns. I left because I felt complete with what I had.
Note: Avery is still a privateer, that doesn't mean he doesn't defleet.
Its funny when someone who thinks hitting a few of my replaceable frigate fleets thinks they won. I guess ever since Shadowood been buying out voodoo like BigTea, he thinks big money means big win.

I deflected him too... I shot through quite a few mindbars, and he had 1 fleet left from 3... and 4 purifies.
When a pirate chooses to not pirate, they usually realized they s**k as pirates.
When I was one, I thought I sucked too. It's ok.
I learned, found I was good at it, not respected. Chose to be a merchant because it lasted longer.

I made defleeted 9 sotls, and 6 LFs as a pirate.
7 of the SoTLs and 4 of the LFs were of my own planned raids.
As well, a few gold raids to hit it in. It isn't that I wasn't making profit Imperia.

Think of it as this.
Say I defleet someone, but that defleet took 2 weeks of gathering turns, buying in 200 credits worth of voodoo and there is STILL a chance of failure.
Now that I defleeted that person, I have ships worth 500 credits combined on the market, which I must wait to sell before I can start raiding others.
A merchant takes 2 years of trading, and they will be making 15mil a day, and never have to worry about failed raids or lost voodoo.
