The Hidden Chest, Inn

Welcome to the splendid Hidden Chest Inn, located on Morgan Avenue in Aiora, this tavern has had many a sailor come through, and as such, is a very wealthy establishment. Its prime location is evident.
The tavern, while appearing small, is quite large. The bartap is behind the counter, manned by a grizzled sailor with an eye patch.
The wary traveler, upon entering, would see a spattering of tables and booths across, navigated by beautiful women carrying heavy trays in one hand, and large tankards in the other.
The patrons are a rowdy bunch, livened by an unseen person. In one of the far corners, the one shrouded in shadows, the outline of a man can be seen.
If you went to that table, he would cock a pistol under the table, and ask you to move along with a sophisticated voice.
That man is known to all in the room. He was a failure most said. Came here many a year ago, followed by a pirate. They say he killed the pirate from behind while the pirate was pick-pocketing him.
They tell tales of his legendary skills in piracy, but also his mysterious disappearances, and sudden returns. His former crew despise him for leaving, and have forgotten his strength.
They called his mercy beautiful, like that of a flower, but his wrath akin to the Devil himself.
His wealth is truly unknown, as he does not dress like most of the wealthy in Aiora.
The patrons wear a wide range of clothes, from sailcloth to velvet. Smells of rum pervade the air, followed by the scent of tobacco, and haunches of Cattle.
Occasionally the man speaks, says few words, and goes silent.
The whole room silences when he speaks.
The story of the Shadowed man is written by a visitor to the Hidden Chest Inn.
This is that story.
