Since this originally ended up in the wrong forum, I'll repost it here.
Anyone who is NOT a member of the T'zak Ryn may buy tickets in the lottery. One ticket costs 10 credits. You buy tickets by sending me the credits and a message telling me the credits were to buy tickets.
At the end of September, I will draw one lucky winner. The winner will get 90% of all the credits that was spent buying tickets. October 1st, I'll post the name of the winner. I'll also post how many tickets each player bought, so that it is transparent that the price actually IS 90% of the spent credits.
This could be YOUR chance to become filthy rich! Buy tickets today!

so how will you pick it randomly? also, will there be any restrictions?(aside from your own guild not being able to participate.) such as winner can not participate in the next one?

The only restriction will be that no member from the T'zak Ryn can participate. The winners may participate in the next lottery if they like. I mean, they must spend their winnings on SOMETHING - why not the lottery?
Each ticket will be given a number. So, if I sell N tickets, they will have numbers from 1 to N. I will then use the random number generator inherent in MatLab to generate a random number from a uniform distribution, giving an integer between 1 and N. That ticket will be the winning ticket!

Really, he is just robbing people of 10% of the credits, since he don't lose anything cus there is no starting pot.

G- that is what gambling is. The house always takes a cut. A real lottery keeps 50%.

That is of course fine, Guluere. Others are buying tickets, though. And one of them will be the lucky winner!
And let me know what lotteries pay out more than 100% of their sales income. I'd like to know, so I can play!

No, what I mean is the person who opens a lotto would put a starting pot, thats how lotto works, there should be a starting pot from the host.

Maybe in some places that is how it is done, in others, not how it is done : however, here is Avonmora and Haron has clearly stated the method he will use to determine both eventual prize and the winner of it : So, if that is not acceptable to you, feel free to ignore it and go occupy your time in other ways.
