RP- Battle against the Colisquian fleet

The mysterious pirate receives word of the signal.

Hmm....They want to talk. Send signal to agree to talk, prepare all guns for battle, but keep a relaxed state. An engagement with us would be foolish, but it would also be foolish to not be ready.

Signal is sent agreeing to meet. A single cutter moves from the mysterious fleet to a point between the fleets.

Eden nods to Jack and Carl

You 2 think you can handle talking to these guys without me? I feel like one of us should stay back to command the fleet in case things go south.

Carl shrugs

Im fine with it. We can meet them on our own cutter too.

[Jack Teach]

Yeah i don't think im a good fit either honestly. Brian was always the more diplomatic one in our group.

Eden just shrugs

Okay fine, ill bloody go, but Jack your coming with me. Need someone to watch my back, and Carl here won't bloody use a damn weapon so id prefer it to be you.

Eden hops aboard a cutter and waits for Jack before sailing to meet the other party. She whispers to Jack though and shows him a small crystal.

Talked one of those witches back on your little island to hand me a little trinket. If things go south, i can get us both back on this ship. One time use though so i hope to save it for a more pressing matter.

How do these things work? And who's the acting Admiral?

How do these talks work? Well we just talk and see where it goes from there. Mostly I just want to see if we can learn who these pricks are, what they are doing here, and why they sank all but one ship. Information gathering basically. Unless you mean how this crystal works, in which case, I have no damn idea, they just said to smash it and it takes us back to our ship. As for the admiral, again no damn idea. But maybe we can find that out. Unless you mean who's the acting admiral for our fleet while we go meet, in which case, either of us. If things go south remember, I can get us back in an instant if needed.

They arrive to the other cutter Eden whispers a few final thingsto Jack

3 bits of advice right quick. Watch them for any sudden movements, be polite and cordial, and be prepared to fight on a moments notice.

As her cutter bobs next to theirs Eden calls out.

Well for starters answering my question as to who you are would be nice. Seems like you and Jack might know each other already though. Other then that, id mainly like to know why you showed up here out of the blue, then sank all but one ship when it seemed like you clearly could have sank them all and now seem ready to leave out of the blue as well.

Now by looking at your flag it seems like you have to be pirates-or perhaps you just really like the Jolly Rodger. But assuming you are pirates, it seems very bizarre for pirates to fight a battle and not take anything at all. You didn't board any of their ships, or take any of them for yourself so you clearly didn't profit from this battle. So either you just showed up to blast some ships or they didn't have what you want.

Well, Eden, my name is Gregory. And the reason I'm here you seem to have already deduced, I'm searching for something that wasn't here. Of course I knew it wasn't here before I fired the first shot, but you don't draw out what you are looking for by playing footsie.
