I don't bloody intend to fight the damn thing. My vote is to leave and head further in land. But with the heavy torrent of rain, and lightning the streets will be flooded soon. So if we can't find a house to hide in further in land we may die out there.

Kaipur's face suddenly looks horrified as he realizes something. He says in a quiet voice.

The port will start flooding soon, and when that happens, the kraken can move inland.

Well the obvious choice would be to seek the highest possible ground. I know of a place, it has been years since I have been there, but it might be an option, assuming the governor didn't have it destroyed.

Good god man? How long have you been a pirate? The Kraken is a sea creature. A creature that targets a specific person. If it is after anyone here it would follow us. Getting as far away from the sea as possible is the only way to stay alive.

I KNOW what a bloody kraken is mate. For your information i went to sea at six, and became a quartermaster at 19, and a captain at 20. It was just a suggestion. How far are we going to have to move inland anyway?

Kaipur looks outside. The fort is firing in vain at the Kraken and is getting smashed quite badly. Won't be much longer til it falls and the water is up to the knees outside.

Fellas we need to make a decision NOW. I vote we head inland for higher ground. John can lead us to the spot he mentioned. Everyone grab a weapon and a raincoat and boots if you need them. Time is running out.

As for how far inland, I recommend as far as possible until the weather clears up.
