So if the person leading the pirates is some lady you don't like, does that mean you need to listen and obey her, or can the pirate lords just ignore a command from the acting leader if they want to?

Jack's face goes sour

She has complete power in some issues, others there must be a vote. Mind you, it's not because she's a woman that i don't like her, she's just obnoxious. Even when she is not in charge she acts like it.

Zephyra nods

Well just between us, I must admit my mother can be obnoxious herself. She constantly refers to every single person in the guild other then herself as lesser mages, even the other council members. As in they are all beneath her. She tends to not do much either, and if you ask her why she hardly does anything herself she will always say "I leave petty matters to the lesser mages, i focus on grander things." Truthfully many people don't particularly like her, but they all admit she is by all accounts the best mage alive at the moment, and lord does she love to flaunt it.

I see. I once ferried Eden across the Mediterranean. She attempted to take command of the ship several times, despite the fact that she was equal to my rank at the time. I had her clapped in irons.

Hopefully she won't hold a grudge now that she's technically your boss. But truth be told, women tend to be quite good at holding them in my experience. Regardless what do you wanna do now Jack. Strait's taken care of, and we don't need to worry about Edward for a while. Wanna just prepare for this port war, or do something else. Just between you and me, I am somewhat eager to meet this Eden lady. For her to be elected over you must mean she's quite capable if nothing else. Either that or the other pirate lords just like her more then you, though if she's as obnoxious as you say that seems strange.

Most would say we're equal. She is VERY capable, and She's only obnoxious to some. To others it could be a different story. That old man, Archibald, really likes her. While the pale fellow, James Blood, doesn't just dislike her, my dislike of her is like love compared to the sheer unbridled hatred he's got for her. Most of the others though like her, none of them hate me. They may have voted just slightly more in her favor because of my aristocratic background, thinking that somebody who is low-born would be better leader for the mostly low-born sailormen.

Wait that fellow you dueled with hates her? Then why did he say she was a better pick then you? You said none of them hate you, so that doesn't make sense to me, especially if you 2 are roughly equal.

You know, im a lunatic but even I don't stab my friends. A friendly fist fight sure but stabbing seems rather excessive. Regardless Looking forward to this little port war. Should help take my mind off Brian.

Honestly I probably won't join in. I could use a break from adventure and just study some tomes, maybe help out with the planning with the rest of the family.
