Some bargains on the ship market

Frigate 51 points @ 65 credits - Given that MC cards trade at 26 credits and a standard Frig averages 40 to 43 points those extra point s are worth 208 to 280 credits - 5 hours of bidding left at posting

SOTL 43 points @ 59 credits - With credits trading at 200k each that makes for a buying price of around 11.8 mil - Ship value @ 17.7 mil x 70% makes for a profit of around 600k if sold to shipwright

Flag Galleon 45 points @ 38 credits - Standard 40 point Flags go for 30 credits - for 5 extra points you only pay 8 credits more ( MC cards go at 26 credits each)

Average Ship of the line's worth is 17,625,000 gc (not including attributes: just the leveling cost to level 10.)

Average Flag Galleon is worth about 4,993,750 gc (not including attributes: just the leveling cost to level 10.)

Average Frigate is worth 4,700,000 gc (not including attributes: just the leveling cost to level 10.)

You don't need MC's to get more attributes ;)

Not saying this isn't still a good deal but just for reference a level 10 sotl sells to the shipwright for just under 11 million (10.9 give or take).

Depends on the ship Banger. Each ship can have a slightly different value. This one has a value of 17.7. Times 70% and you will get back roughly $12.4 million. ;)

Hmm guess I need to pay closer attention lol. I have sold like 4 to the shipwright in the last week and they all have seemed to be in around that value but maybe I am not paying close enough attention.

Interesting. Makes one wonder why people are willing to pay 26 credits for an MC card

Ship value is not fixed : it depends on how much the ship-builder paid to build it : also, if it has ever lost a level, it will reduce in value too : thus the '1gc' ships you sometimes dredge up.

There are ways to add attributes without using MC's : one way means using other voodoo cards of pretty much equal value : another is probably viewable as an exploit as it may involve deliberately losing battles, but that's subject to the admins opinion, not mine.

Deliberately losing battles. That's definitely one way to do it. I wouldn't see an issue with using that technique as long as the battle wasn't arranged. If deliberately losing a battle was against the rules, merchants would have to put cannons on their fleets. BUT as you said, the final say belongs to the admins.

There is a difference between a trader running unarmed ships in the hope they wont be attacked, (but if so, they pay the toll) and deliberately engaging in battles you have no intent to win just to lose some levels in the hope the rebuild gains more atts than you lose.
If traders made attacks with their unarmed ships, it would, of course, be considered deliberate.
