Ellen stops chanting and sighs. She shouts to her sailors to hide below deck for the moment, while she floats to one of the spirits and waves her hand in front of it as she thinks to herself this is unlikely to do anything

Hey hello? I'm a spirit too, albeit a very different one. Do you understand me? What are you doing, and can you do it elsewhere?

The spirit hardly acknowledged her, just grasping her wrist with one wispy claw. Flashes of a man sweeping about in a great black cloak, eyes of piercing purple, and...nothing...just pure, unending nothing...but an endless whispering.

"Find him, Find the Doctor"

The spirits vanished as quickly as they appeared, the storm howling in their wake.

Eric, stumbles out on deck, with whiskey bottle in hand. He looks around and begins barking out orders.

Well don't just stand their crapping ye pants, there be a storm upon us. Prepare for rough seas. Tie down anything that's loose. Get moving! The spirits ain't doin' it for ye.

Ellen blinks confused but shrugs it off, quickly getting to work securing anything that needs it, while shouting orders to her crew to come back up and get to work. Ellen begins chanting a quiet prayer as she works. Carl and Brian also set about working as fast as they can.

The storm blows as the fleet continues northward. Through howling winds and driving rain they go, till the light of day pierces the clouds ahead, the fog parting to reveal a small port town to starboard.

Ellen gives the order to dock, as she goes to the other captains

Okay let's see if we can buy some maps of the local area, do some trading and get some info. Also check to make sure no serious damage was done and nothing was lost.

The fleet was welcomed with open arms, the Thorn not shunned for once in her long history. Jacques ordered his crew to begin unloading an assortment of exotic eastern silks, wines, and jade statues for trading. The town itself was a sad, soggy place, all greys and pale browns, as though the storms were washing the very color from the place. The townsfolk were welcoming, if withdrawn- though the prospect of fresh food and exotic goods excited them, as though they had been deprived of them for some time.

Carl and Brian order to unload some trade goods before stepping over to a local

Ahoy mate, any taverns in this small town? Along with a shop we can buy some local goods and a map of the area, or directions? Also who runs this place, might see if we can meet them to see if they got any requests we could possibly do, maybe work on a regular trade route for this town.

A map was quickly produced, with the specified areas marked. as for when asked about the town's leader, the old fisherman simply pointed into the fog, to the distant, crooked grey spires of a crumbling manor house.

Brian and Ellen head to the mansion, while Carl heads to the tavern as he says to Eric

Wanna come with me to the tavern and have a pint or 2, or would ye rather go with the others to speak with the local mayor?
