Ellen ends up catching a blast to the chest, which she barely managed to block, though it ends up sending her flying back. Emily screams in rage as she rushes the demon and begins stabbing it violenty in the head. After a minute of repeated stabbing it flops down dead. The remaining animals howl as they run away towards the entrance of the cave. Ellen gets up, pretty badly burned, but still alive. She shouts to the others.

How is everyone doing. I have plenty of bandages and medicine. I can begin patching us all up.

Brian flops down pretty hurt himself, and Emily doesn't look much better. One golem looks barely functioning, the other starting to show cracks. Brian says to Emily.

Can you make a few more golems or something.

She looks around.

I can try to make something out of the stuff here sure. But seeing how that mud golem I made only took one blast, I think it would be a waste to make another. Mud golems are poor fighters, they normally are meant to serve as laborers, not soldiers.

Jack, cursing and swearing puts his cutlass away, cursing and swearing, blood covers the side of his face.

Why didn't we bring more people?

Ellen curses as well.

Because Salipsa told us there wasn't much in the way of defenses. Apparently she was mistaken. At least she gave us these golems. I think we might be dead now if not for them. But we are in a bad situation now. If we leave to try to get more men Linda might run away or set up even more defenses, but if we stay and continue, I don't know if we can finish the job.

Brian notices that the path they took leads to a dead end. On the wall is 2 large words. Ha-Ha. he curses.

Great. That explains why those wolves ran the other way. This is a bloody dead end.

Emily takes a closer look at the wall. She tosses a rock at it and its sent flying backwards. She laughs.

A magic barrier disguised as a wall. Pretty clever honestly. Odds are if we go down the other path it would lead to a wall just like this one. That way whoever is trying to find her will think this whole place is just a dead end, while she hides in the back. Let's rest up for a bit before pressing onward. Ill start trying to do something with all the items left lying around here. You guys patch yourselves up, and see if any weapons are left lying around.

Jack looks to the wall, he pulls out a pistol, and fires it at the wall, the shot ricochets of the wall. Jack then touches his crucifix to it, and the wall seems to flicker.

Emily shouts.

Mate you could have killed one of us with that ricochet. Don't go messing with things you don't know about. ill take the barrier down soon. For now we should rest up while I try to make something out of all this crap lying around. Besides we don't know what's on the other side of that barrier. Could be another demon.

Brian notices a door nearby, with a sign titled armory. He kicks the door in and goes in with a pistol. To his surprise it really is just a armory. He spots some ammo, powder, and various weapons and armor. He shouts for Ellen to help him make sure none of this is cursed or anything. She goes over it and nods that nothing is cursed, though a few seem to have enchantments on them. She yells for Jack and Raven to go through it to see if there's anything they want of could use.

Ellen looks at the flaming blade.

That should come in handy against those beasts. I wouldn't use it on a demon though. They are immune to flames. You know coming from hell and all. It would be like trying to drown a fish.

Emily comes in, having finished preparing something with the ingredients outside. She begins examining the items and after a while she manages to sort things out. She says to the others.

Well it looks like we have some fire proof cloaks, that should be useful, there's a electrified cutlass I think Jack would like, some fire proof boots, a shield that seems to be magic resistant that I think raven should take, a rapier that I'm not sure what the enchantment is and that's all they have that is enchanted. There is plenty of ammo and a few pistols for anyone who wants them. After you all arm up, I suggest we move past the barrier.

Jack looks at the electrified cutlass and shakes his head. He grabs a musket, and 5 smaller pistols, being slightly smaller, the other two being much smaller.

Brian decides to take the cutlass since Jack seems uninterested. he also grabs the rapier and swings it a few times. He likes the feel of it and decides to take that too. Emily grabs the cloaks and boots and hands one to each person. She says to Jack.

Jack, I don't know if you don't like using magic items, or what, but trust me when i say it would be a good idea to at least put on a cloak and boots to help against those demons magic.

Ellen nods as she dons a cloak and boots.

Emmie is right Jack. That blast i took was quite painful and did serious damage. Besides theres nothing wrong with using magic if you plan to use it for a good cause, and stopping this madwoman from summoning more demons is a very good cause.
