Jack does indeed make an appearance, the red haired woman at his side, like before. She stubbornly remained, despite his vociferous objections.

Several other captains make an appearance as well. They sit around a table, as Ellen suddenly floats up from the floorboards letting loose a loud scream, scaring several of them before laughing as she calms them back down.

Welcome everyone, Sorry for the scare, but it's just too tempting to pass up. Glad to have you all on board. Now we can discuss some things right quick. Any questions you lot have ask, for the most part our journey is to explore, trade, help the locals and establish good relations and new trade routes.

My name is Ellen and I'm leading the cutter, while the expedition will decide things with votes. Each captain get's one when it comes to decisions that affect the expedition. You can decide what to trade and with whom on your own. Now any questions?

Jack simply listened to the tale with a cool, even stare, only raising an eyebrow when the ghostly woman burst from her disguise.

Ellen shakes her head

Pirates are unlikely, they normally prey on already established routes, though you never know what we might run into. Could be sea monsters up north, I think the main obstacle will be weather and possibly hostile locals. Just a guess though, I never been this far north.

Upon the decks, an unnaturally cold southern wind howled through the rigging, the skies crackling with forks of white light. The waves grew talland unnatural voices filled the air- hopefully harmless sea spirits...

Ellen shouts some orders to be prepared for a storm just in case, as Carl and Brian do the same.

The storm only grows worse, wraithlike shapes flitting between masts and rushing along the decks, blank shadowy faces radiating the horrors of knowledge from aeons too distant to comprehend.

Carl and Brian both continue working, ignoring the spirits, while Ellen shouts angrily

One ghost is more than enough on this trip. Begone vile spirits.

She loudly begins chanting as she holds up her mace swinging it around to banish the spirits back.

it has little effect on the odd, dark entities, who continue their swirling, stormy dance. It almost seems as though the spirits see the fleet as ghosts. One sailor aboard the Thorn makes the mistake of touching one of them, and falls to the deck in agony, eerie blue light pouring from his mouth and eyes, another black shade tearing free from his body and joining the otherworldly dance.
