Role-Play Chaos in Chalkos

[Meliva]

After a while Eloth finally gets up and stretches.

Well, I'm tired of waiting, let's go up to the mountains and see what the hell is up there. If we spend all our time here hoping to figure out what the magic in the air is, we might not find out until it's too late.

[Jack Teach]

they all stand up. Malachi says

Where are those marines?

edmund says

They're outside.

[Meliva]

Eloth turns to his friends

We should probably have a few of our guys stay in port in case something happens while we go up north. Honestly I doubt that whatever is up in the mountains is the cause of the magic here-seems to far honestly but it's our only lead.

Brian nods and shouts to a couple men to stay put and be prepared to send a carrier pigeon immediately if something happens. Eloth then turns to Charles

Make sure to pack plenty of hiking gear and extra rations-and probably some extra clothes. Mountains are cold dangerous places after all, and we don't know who or what is up in them.

Charles nods and looks at a midshipman.

Boy, get the bags.

he runs off

Eloth grabs several large bags, and hefts them over his shoulder as he starts marching north, Carl and Brian following behind with smaller bags. Eloth shouts as he begins marching northward

Any locals who wanna come along and help, do so now, otherwise we ain't waiting for ya. Keep an eye out while we're gone, no telling what may happen.

The midshipman quickly brings the bags, they all grab them and begin to move. The marines follow behind them

The group begin the journey to the mountains, as Eloth and his friends walk along with Charles. Eloth say's quietly to him as they march

Got a few ideas of what may be up in those mountains. Now I ain't as knowledgeable about monsters and creatures as the rest of the family but I can think of a few that like mountains. Could be dwarves, or some other small humanoid critters like goblins, worst case scenario-it's a dragon. I'm mighty tough, but id rather not fight a dragon without good help.

Just a few tips for ya- keep an eye out for any caves or holes in the ground, but also try to keep an eye on the skies. Not much is worse then having a bloody dragon swoop down on ya when you ain't looking. That normally ends up in an insant death.

Charles nods and thinks "What the hell is even my job anymore?

Keep and eye out for caves and such gentlemen, and to the sky.

As they begin to enter the mountains, they smell an intensely foul stench in the air, causing many to retch, bits of filth and body parts litter the ground, and Eloth just frowns as he whispers to Charles

Well the good news, is that it looks like goblins live here-they tend to be very disgusting in their habits, and rather brutal in their behavior but are easy enough to kill. Now the bad news is that they don't always live alone. They have the habit of living under bigger meaner things. Like trolls or ogres. In some very rare cases i think i heard they sometimes live under a dragon, but that's very rare-most dragons prefer better minions then goblins.

On a sidenote, based on the parts littered around us, they probably been abducting people and animals, so we may need to rescue a few folks.

Charles nods in acknowledgment. He kneels down and takes off his hat, the troops stop walking, Malachi mutters a blessing over Charles. He stands back up and puts his hat on and they continue walking
