After about an hour of walking, the group is fairly deep into the forest. As they continue following the dog, Veera finds herself unable to move forward. Veera looks confused as she prods in front of her, and finds something blocking her from moving forward. A few of the volunteers along with a couple marines also find something blocking them. Vune looks at this, and shrugs

Huh. Well guess you guys are gonna have to hang back. Though this gives me an idea of what might be ahead. Those who can continue with us, keep an eye out for anything strange. Veera, you keep an eye on those with you.

Vune continues onward following Ino

Well it's nothing dangerous really. So long as we don't go and provoke it. But I think what's nearby would have to be a Qilin. Rather strange for one to be here of all places, but perhaps it has something to do with the kidnappings. We should be nearing it's lair based on how Veera and those others got stuck.

Meanwhile at the docks....

Be on the look out. Their is a group moving about looking to find out who is kidnapping the women and children. I told them of our part but they didn't buy into it, which is good for us and foolish on their part. They looked to have moved inland. But we need to been keen of our actions and get moving.


The first mate acknowledges. After a few minutes the loading of the cargo has completed. The captain speaks to the first mate.

Set sail, raise the flag, and meet up with the fleet. Once there send another ship back to for me and continue with the cargo transfer. I have unfinished business to attend to.

The frigate undocks and sets sail. As they move out of the harbor, they raise their flag, a distinct Jolly Roger with a white beard.

After a bit of walking they come across a cave. Ino sits down and nods to it, and Vune nods back. She walks into the cave, and finds quite a few children and a few young women, all sleeping on a pile of pillows. Nearby she spots the Qilin, it has 2 large horns, a flowing mane, a deer like body and scales along it. It walks in front of the children and just looks to Vune and the others before speaking.

Why have you come to my lair.

The qilin raises its head and growls in anger before stomping it's hooves a bit.

Mind telling use why you have them here? Last I checked Qilin were supposed to be friendly and good.

The Qilin nods

Yes. We are. And while all of these people are here sleeping, they can't be taken by the cultists or slavers now can they? So until they are taken care of, I will continue taking those I can, and putting them here asleep and safe. But if you can deal with those threats I will gladly return them home. But until then I will keep them here with me safe. A few ships just left with more of the taken I believe. This infuriates me.

The cultists I believe are waiting for the next full moon to do their horrid ritual, so until then their prisoners are more or less safe-for about a week. So I suggest you deal with the slavers first. Quite a few of the dock guards are corrupt and helping them. Also the volunteers who were stuck outside of my lair are evil-either part of the cult or part of the slavers. You see nothing evil can enter my lair without me knowing. And right now I am using my power to keep evil out.

Vune chuckles

Yeah I figured as much. When Veera was stuck I could only think of one creature that could do that. But thank you for your help. Charles are you ready to go check the docks, or is there anything else you can think of to ask our new friend?
