Oggie thinks for a moment and nods.

Yeah, It was meant to be a small part of a big future project. The fort was on a mountain path blocking the entrance to a big valley. There were plans to build a lot of stuff there, a city with fields and other things. The fort would serve as protection, but shortly after the fort was finished it was cancelled and the fort abandoned. Don't know why though, they never gave a reason. Not one I heard of anyway, but it happened quite sometime ago so who knows.

The golem comes back into the tavern, having a few scratches on it, but otherwise fine. Emily speaks in a rather tired voice.

Didn't see her. Either she got caught, was killed or is hiding. Probably the former. She would have called out to me if she saw the golem, and I don't think they would kill her until they find out what she knows. I hope you got good info out of Felior.

The cult's HQ is 20 miles east of here in an old fort. 2 floors and a sub-level. The sub-level is Nelly's Lab and is also where they hold prisoners that don't make it to the cave. Details of the interior are minimal with no details on the 2nd floor or Sub-level, but there are two entry points, West and South Gates. 12 Guards at the West Main Gate, unknown at the South, but assume the same. 10 Guards run in the patrol. Plus scouts and hidden sentries around the perimeter and an unknown number of guards inside. So we are looking at probably 50-60 men and that's if we are lucky. Being a fort, they likely have cannon emplacements so the number of men might be upward of 100.

The golem perks up, and Emily's voice instantly sounds much happier and lighter.

A lab you say? That might have some useful stuff I could use. You lot can start making plans, ill be coming personally to help deal with this issue-and ill bring some help.

The golem goes silent as it stops moving.

Jack perks up.

My vessel carries 800 souls, so we should be fine if we need to invade the thing.

Oggie thinks for a moment.

Well if we go and do that, they would see us coming from miles away, and since they probably have artillery in that fort, it would certainly be a bloody uphill battle. We may still be able to win, especially if we get some more help from the locals and from the witch, but many people would die in the battle. Of course, it would be nearly impossible to sneak our way there even with a small group. Only one path to the fort, and if they have sentries and patrols in the right places they would see a group coming no matter what I think. I do believe no matter what, we are going to be seeing a lot of death in the near future.

Jack nods

That's fine. The ship has 112 guns, so if we bring them to bear then we should be able to destroy the fort with a bit of work.

Oggie shakes his head.

Mate, your forgetting, this fort isn't like the port-its not near the sea or ocean at all-its literally 20 miles in land, and its nestled into a mountain pass. Your ship won't help in trying to bombard it, even the best cannons wouldn't even make it half way to the damn thing.
