The death penalty is a great incentive.

most of the tards committing murders and crime these days arent about that life ... meaning they want to do the crime but cry like beeyotches when they get the time

they are ok with breaking the law but dont want their right to be judged by their peers and a judge
they see dem da's in cities allowing crime for the political disruption and unrest
and think they will get off scot free
lol and they do... until they dont
in their minds life in prison or the death penalty isnt even on the table
its why when you see sentences read in court these tough guys killing 5 year olds crying and screaming

Doesn't exactly help when they have too many enablers.

It would also help if people on death row didn't sit on it for 10 years before their execution moves forward. There should be a reasonable amount of time for appeals.

It's a lot on the taxpayer's dime. It is rare to have a governor call at the last minute to stop an execution anyway. It's not like they are going to all of a sudden prove someone's innocence at the last second. They usually know they got the right person.

Since 1973, in the USA, around 190 persons sentenced to the death penalty have been exonerated.

That is over 10% of those sentenced to death in that period.

Still, if they were just shot in the back of head as soon as sentence was passed then all those 'Oooops!' moments could have been avoided.

who said that it had to be immediately? The laws to allow for repeals. Just stating that ten years is too long.
