Dow see's this and thinks for a moment before looking around and grabbing a nearby empty barrel before calling to Stanley.

I'm gonna borrow this barrel for a bit. Their prayer reminded me of something important. I'll pop back out later. Just keep an eye out for any trouble. Never know what might happen.

Stanley Shrugs

Okay, not that this ship is very useful in a battle it only has 2 cannon, one on each side and 10 cannonballs. Hopefully the ocean remains clear for the journey or I can out run any trouble.

Dow laughs a little as she begins cutting the bottom of the barrel off

Honestly clear seas worry me the most. Particularly at night. Who knows, maybe I'll share the tale with you sometime, or we might run into it-got a bad feeling to be honest, and you never know. Night will be here soon, and the ocean is nice and calm.

Vincent looks towards Stanley's ship and thinks glad I have at least 12 cannons

Dow calls back

The Umi-Bozu-or sea monk in English. Your prayers reminded me about them. They typically show up on calm seas at night and just pop up out of nowhere, and are quite honestly one of the most terrifying things to exist. With this nice calm weather and night approaching i am a tad worried. I heavily reccomend the other ships have a bottomless barrel prepared just in case.

Dow turns to him

The bottomless barrel, or the sea monk? Typically the sea monk will pop up, and then ask for a barrel. If you don't give it one, he'll just straight up sink your ship, and everyone dies. But, if you do give him one, he will then take that barrel, and use it to start dumping sea water right into your ship-eventually flooding it, causing it to sink, and everyone dies. Thankfully, the damn thing is a bit slow-if you give them a barrel without a bottom, they can't pour any water into your ship-it just goes through, and it takes them a while to figure out the problem-so if your quick you can sail away before the damn thing catches on.

Interesting story, I've been sailing these seas for years, and this is the first time I've heard this story, but rather safe than sorry.

Well rather that than the sea monster that eats entire man's of war whole.
