Meanwhile, more and more people are dying to crow blades, each striking at the heart of important officials

The local guards end up trapping several crow blades through several traps after realizing their targets.. The guard captains has his men immediately chop their hands and feet off, and locks them in a cell for interrogation. He summons Veera and Jack to help with it. The remaining local officials are all hidden away in a very secure bunker guarded by a battalion of soldiers, with all the entrances locked. The captain looks to Veera and Jack as they get ready to interrogate the men. He asks Veera in a polite tone.

I don't suppose you have a way of making them talk aside from torture?

Veera shrugs as she takes out a bottle.

Dunno. This bottle has a real strong potion in it that can force the truth outta people, but thanks to the nuns it probably won't work. Although it SHOULD work if we use it on them outside of the port, so if we can't get answers outta them without it, we can try that. We can interragote the boys after these men.

Veera takes out her knife as she smiles, and she turns to Jack remembering something.

Oh yeah that orb you gave me. Based on what i could tell, its very old strong magic. So whoever is using it didn't create it themselves. They may not know how to use it to its full potential, hell they might just be some bozos who found it and started waving it around. And considering those kids had this orb makes me think either their leader is incompetent or just doesn't know what he's dealing with. He seems to just be LEAVING these orbs around-which is pretty stupid to do with voodoo magic. Especially old and powerful magic. But for now lets interragote these men. After you Jack.

She opens the door and gesture Jack inside.

The captain and Veera enter after him. The captain points the 7 men chained to a wall by their bodies, with no hands or feet. The captain says in a slightly ashamed voice.

Those are the men we caught. I ordered their hands and feet removed-something I'm not proud of doing, but I figure these men are simply too dangerous if we didn't take such drastic measures, and their crimes far too great to allow them any mercy.

Veera nods as she grabs one of the men, unlocking his chains and placing him on a nearby table, she says to the captain.

I say you did the smart thing. But lets get to business. Mate, tell us where you boss is hiding, or your going to end up losing another limb.

She stabes her dagger incredibly hard right next to the men's privates barely missing them, and gives a sadistic smile.

And maybe after I take this limb, I can feed it to you later. Your choice mate.

Jack, though he can handle blood, hates the very thought of this. He pukes on the ground. Jack then pulls out his pistol and puts it to the man's head.

Where is he?!

Veera hasn't touched them yet, just a threat, unless just the thought of it caused him to puke-which I can understand, its a very vital area and even I normally wince when it get threatened like that.

Veera chuckles at Jack and the captain as she looks at the vomit and how the captain also looks quesy. She says to them in a cold yet joyful voice.

Mates, maybe you 2 should just step out and let me handle this. Trust me when I say that my first threat is a very mild punishment on my long list of ideas, so if that upset you, you really don't want to be in here when I bring out the more brutal methods.

The captain shakes his head and replies to her.

Veera, we need info, but I won't just let you do whatever you please to these men, even they don't deserve it. If we can't get info this way after a while we go with the backup plan-that potion of yours used on them outside of town.

Jack removes his pistol away from the man's head.

Perhaps threatening his life would change his mind?

Jack draws his cutlass, letting the sound of steel on leather ring slowly. He puts the tip of the cutlass to the man's throat.

The man grins, and bites the fragile part of his fake tooth, releasing a deadly toxin, and he swallows it

Jack crosses himself and looks at the man's body.

Well, there goes one.

Veera grabs her knife and yells.

No way in hell am I letting this guy cheat us. I came prepared for cheap tricks like this.

She quickly knocks the man out with a quick hit to the temple with the butt of the knife, and then makes a small surgical like slice across his stomach, and quickly begins to remove all the contents from the man's stomach, once finished she takes some thread and a needle and begins sewing it back up. She examines the rest of his mouth, and once confirming that no other teeth are false she wipes her hands on a rag and turns to Jack.

This guy will live, and once he wakes up, we can question him.

She looks to the rest of the prisoners, all of whom had similar teeth and all died.

Sadly, there was no way in hell I could do the same for all these men, but I think we only need one to get what we need. This really makes no bloody sense, how the hell does this crow guy have SO many followers willing to literally DIE for him. It's like a bloody cult, but not one I'm familiar with.

The captain having just vomited a little after that incident says in a somewhat nervous voice.

uh, exactly how man cults are you familiar with, and where the bloody hell did you learn to do that.

Veera smiles.

Mate, don't ask questions you wouldn't like to hear the answers too.
