Not gonna lie to you, this port is most likely lost. A good chunk of their fleet they sent here last time survived and made it back to give reports. They have a good idea of what all we got, and are sending enough to blow that straight outta the water. Our best bet, in my opinion is to try to last as long as possible here, deal as much damage we can, then flee to another area when the port falls. Some good news is that while their sea force will be huge, they might not be prepared or willing to launch any land invasions. It's why they are hitting Prote first and foremost-it's a smallish island with a small land force. Easy for them to beat-Though I plan to make it hard for them.

yeah, that be our best bet. Hurt them as much as we can, so that future fights will be easier. One good advantage we have is that they won't be able to get any reinforcements any time soon. What they come with is what they got. But we should be able to get help from nearby if needed and with a bit of persuasion. For now though we wait for the first sightings.

So does my character, but I don't always have it there. A few ships compared to an armada would be more realistic. Plus there is the point that a fleet like that would be noticeable target and a logistical nightmare. You would have to be almost constantly plundering to maintain sufficient supplies. This would relate back to being a very noticeable target by creating tons of enemies.
