Role-Play- The Arena of Akrotiri.

Postby Meliva » Thu Apr 26, 2018 10:18 pm

Time for the new RP. This one is once again a 4 on the realism scale, so very unrealistic. Rules are as follows.

1. Try to keep things in character. Don't post something unrelated to the RP here. If you don't like this RP, don't complain about it here. Post a new thread or start your own RP thread if you don't like this one. I would actually be quite happy if someone posts a RP of their own so please feel free to do so.
2. You can control your characters actions-You can not control others. NPC's are fair game and anyone can control them, so long as its believable and in character. A guard for example shouldn't just up and decide to shoot an orphan for no reason-that is out of character. Anyone without a name will be considered a NPC, if you name a character but want it to be a NPC then just mention that said character is NPC in quotation marks after a post.
3. You are allowed to have multiple characters- but be reasonable. Don't flood the story with a bunch of your characters. 2 or 3 in one story is fine, anything past that is sort of pushing it unless you are really good at managing them.
4. Use Italics for actions, and try to separate things nice and neat. Also use paragraphs when needed. Quotations if for speaking out of the roleplay.
5. No editing of a post once you post it. The exception is to fix spelling mistakes or minor errors. It can be real annoying when someone posts one thing and another responds to it only to find what they responded too is now completely different.
6. The most important rule- Have fun.

Next post begins the story.

The port of Akrotiri is beginning to experience a massive boom in visitors and trade. The local governor, realizing how the remote port lacked many trade partners due to distance, and lacked any resources valuable enough to lure far away traders, was given the idea to open up a massive arena, to lure visitors to watch fights of might and magic, to place bets and gamble, and to offer brave and talented individuals the chance to battle for rewards and glory. Many have begun to flock there upon hearing of it, and many locals remarking how the arena was built nearly overnight, but enjoying the boom in business and entertainment. Rumors of a particularly large mystery prize have been going around, though none know what it may or may not be. In a local tavern, Emily sits in her cloak in a corner speaking with a few other cloaked individuals, 2 women and 2 men. she had been here for quite some time, waiting for Jack and the others ships to arrive, chatting with some new friends and acquaintances.

On the docks of Akrotiri, Agnar is speaking with his officers.

Sell those gems, store 5% of it please, I'll distribute the payout for the crew afterwards...

He and Mikkel turns away and makes their way to the tavern

Wonder which kind of fighting it is...

A 60 gun frigate sails into the harbor, only its mainsails, topsails, and jib are set, the topgallants, royals, and stunsails aren't up. The frigate docks. Jack and the priest step off and walk into the tavern.

Carl and Brian arrive in their ship, having had a bit of bad luck on the way slowing them down. They quickly go to the tavern, where Emily spots them and the others the other cloaked people excuse themselves and leave, while Emily waves them to sit with her, ordering some drinks for them. Carl and Brian sit down and take a drink.

Jack sits down. He smiles broadly.

Who were those four?

Well there was also 4 of them not 2- 2 men 2 women.

Emily just laughs before replying.

Just some friends of mine, who would prefer to not be named. They helped set up the arena, and were the ones who told me of it and gave me the invite. Met with the governor a while back, and i set up some very beneficial deals and arrangements, with some help from my friends. Which reminds me, if any of you want to fight in the arena, i got quite a few reservation spots i can give out. So many people sign up, the wait list to fight is nearly a month long if you don't have the right connections or a reservation. Governor is thinking of setting up a smaller arena, to help sort through all the applicants.
