LMFAO. 6 Random idiots could have raided the USA Treasury, which is basically what happened. Isn't hard when players leave the nation due to war and over half the council were inactive. SDK and his buddies also nearly failed. Not something I would call a great success.

I guess idiots group together?

Don't get me wrong here, but are you not calling your own nation weak basically, and are you not at least partially responsible for keep your treasury safe and your nation. I would not be up so high and mighty if I where you and it took only 6 players with a rookie leading them to raid your treasury and get away with it

High and mighty? HAHA, you have no room to speak, especially since you weren't there.

No, I'm not calling the nation weak. Active players leaving because of not wanting to be involved in a war and inactive players refilling the council ranks doesn't make the remaining players weak. I myself spent almost every single gc I had in trying to save our ports. The only thing I had left was ~25M reserve to rebuild my fleets, which I still ended up using some of that to stop the raid. Others spent more than me and were also drained of coin. Hard to fight for control with few players and few resources, while still in the midst of a war.

What does matter in preventing a raid of the treasury is votes and outside of using a cheap tactic of taking turns as king to cast 20 Yes votes, they didn't have the baseline votes to succeed.

I'd like to see you in the same situation see how you make out.

The situation that occurred by the hands of others gave SDK an opportunity. SDK didn't just say, let's raid the USA treasury out of the blue. His success was entirely the result of a major conflict.

Funny how veteran players saw the same opportunity yet didn't join in. Wonder why that was?

So yes, with the situation at hand, any group of players with a good gold reserve for influence could have done the same as SDK.

The US raid was not that spectacular first of all it was not bankrolled by suzy q and I have messages that can prove that. Not only that him and another at the time pirat split a small amount of the sum the rest went to merc. While the messages i have do not say why they received substantially more I can surmise its because thats where the cash to do this came from and without the help and advice from merc members it would not have got done.

To say it was daring or amazing is like saying you are amazed that maggots turn to flies. The US had been beat on and drained for months so they would lose their ports. coming in after they have been rendered defenseless is a simple choice that only an opportunist would make. I didnt participate due to the names involved and the fact I personally found it the act of cowards.

At least to give Haron some credit who worked in conjunction with Vudu to raid the spanish treasury it was done to a nation who had substantial wealth full of wealthy and voodoo stacked merchants who were capable of defending themselves and if they had a bit more warning the raid may have failed. It didnt so it gets more of a buzz than scraping a carcass for the leftovers of a bigger predator

That isnt to say suzy q shouldnt be in the running for rookie of the year i just dislike a cowardly act being seen as heroic and awesome :beer

I'm still unsure about this category. Is it about who is the best player who joined this year? If so, then Banger is clearly a good candidate (as would TA be, by the way). But if it's about who's been rising fastest, then it may be different. Then dman or Sahqon Dovahkriid could be candidates. Dman managed to get his way and start the T'zak Ryn - VUDU war, after all (I guess I could blame Shadowood for taking his bait, but bottom line is Dman succeeded, and I consider that quite an achievement). My nominee, Caladan, has also risen very fast, but as he has played less than Banger and TA, he is not yet at their level. So, what should we vote for when the time comes? Best player to join this year, or "fastest riser"?

That's the problem with these awards. If you go best overall, those that have played longer are more likely to win as they have had more time to improve their game and show their worth. If you go quickest riser, you may negate someone who was slower to rise but has made a significant impact to the game. It's a double edged sword that screws someone in someway.

But if you use your own idea of rookie of the year, looking at the diversity of players nominated, they've all got a fair chance
