How are we supposed to defend against illegal alians? I mean i cant attack them without becoming a pirate.. i could hire a merc.. i dont think you should be able to use gold from one nations treasury to build up influence and then change nations without any kind of penelty like loss of influence since now its obvious to the population that youre a traitor

You can attack them, you just have to be careful and a little creative : mind, hiring the loser in the last similar war as an advisor does rather show a lack of the required creativity...
