now im sure someone out there knows exactly what this card does, but just by how many people ive spoken to who have no idea, im gonna go out on a limb and suggest this card has served for no purpose besides Gris Gris for a rather long time.

please kill this card.. for that matter rotten food and flood as well.

every card should have a foreseeable useful purpose... and this card lacks one, the others as well. one trade route and one ship is at worse a nuisance, not a game affecting card in any meaningful way.

i for one feel a different sort of unhappiness when i get one of these cards as a present... i don't wonder when im gonna have a reason to use it, like say enlightened vision..
i just want to slap my wife for giving me poop in a box and calling it a present

The only use I can see for flood and rotten food is to grief day-1 newbies. If you cast them both while they are offline they will log back in to find they have not made any gold at all.

Actually rotten food can be used to get information about a ship's level :) Not the intended purpose but it tells you the level.

I propose to make flood do something to port resource stocks or population. And change rotten food to be a whole new card the costs 20 turns to lower the danger rating of any fleet by 1. You can't spam it because it costs so many turns but it could be used to help newbies in your guild trade fast for the first few days.... just an idea...

rotten food could become a threat with the new gold bar resource, but there would then be need for a card that can see what fleets carry

-Rotten Food

Captain Jack wrote:There is one final card to be implemented as declared here. This is:
1.Voodoo card Change
-Rotten Food voodoo card will be replaced with a new card which will be as follows:
Name: Inside Man
Target Type: Fleet
Rarity: Common
Turns needed: 3
Description:
Card Ability: Piercing ( viewtopic.php?f=16&t=302 )
Reveal all ship details and composition of target fleet

However, due to the possible addition of a Gold resource, this change will not proceed for now. So this is revoked for now.

Just because it never got replaced, seems that the devs overlooked the turn cost that was needed in the last card update. So now it is the only voodoo card that can be casted on someone and costs 1 turn. Therefore it is the best card to take off a countercurse or check for mindbar before casting your good cards or get ship level as Dungeness said.

-Hostile Waters

This card is a defensive one and If comboed alongside with Chains of Justice you can lock someone's attacks. It still worths a purify or serenity card so it is nowhere near worthless.

I can understand why a pirate wouldn't want this card but this does not make it worthless.

3)Flood is a poor card. It's a common card, so being poor is not a big deal. Still not worthless as Gris Gris means that no card is worthless. Flood can be sold in the players market in mass numbers, just for this purpose. If the devs update rotten food to cost more, which I suspect they will now (or they should add targetting to countercurse or even better add a new card that acts like countercurse but allows targeting), it will get the traits of an exploration card too.

Now with the pause trade routes feature and the suggestion to make plunder pause a route (insted of terminating it) this card could get some extra value.

Gris Gris would be a more interesting card, if there are no obvious Gris Gris fuel cards.
