Name of card: Blockade
Required amount of turns: 10 (if you dont like that amount please suggest another)
Is in affect for:24 hours
Affect of card: Target-Player/guild and port
When used the player chooses a port and guild the player and his/her guildmates are only assured to enter/exit the port 100%, other players have a 60% chance of leaving and entering, but you may enter 100% if you pay 250gold per ship, 4 credits or 10 turns (which goes to the caster of the curse) you may attempt to leave/enter every 20 minutes.
Only one blockade may be in effect on a port at a time

In my opinion, such actions as blockade, should be fleet actions -if they are ever introduced- and never a voodoo card.

I concur with Sparrow, that this should be a fleet action or maybe a Nation feature. Voodoo is to easy and you have nothing invested in it. As a fleet or Nation action, you will have to maintain the blockade. And as with all blockades, an approaching fleet should have the option of either running the blockade or attacking it. This way there is a risk / reward to your actions.

Sounds like a good foundation for a suggestion.

Lets take this a step further. As currently indicated, any title above Duke gets *+10% profit on market sales and the Governor "*Sets port Tax *Name depicted in a nation controlled port" (from Titles help page). Have blockade be a fleet / Nation action and not shut the port down but rather "steal" the tax and provided it to the fleet / nation owner. Hence the "tax" is collected at the blockade and not the dock.
Given this, a smaller nation or pirates could use blockade as a means to fund its influence within a particular port to seek control.
And one question of clarification from Capt. Jack - Is there a difference in "market sales" and the "port tax" or are these items the same?
