Name: Corrupt Ship Breaker
Rarity: Legendary
Cost: 20 turns
Recipe: 9x sabotage
3x Call Leviathan
3x Commandeer
1x Fireship
1x Bribe

Description: Select target ship in a fleet. Scrap the ship (You receive double all materials [you get 50% of gold bars used given to you] and gold coins put into building and upgrading the target ship.) You also get double the cargo that was carried on the ship (if any.)

x% fail chance where x is the level of the target ship multiplied by 8.

NoMow (cannot target a Man o' War.)

If the card has failed to scrap target ship, sink it (joins the sea floor.)

If successfully scrapped, you gain 1 captain. You then gain 1 admiral if the ship was in the fleet alone. Also, you gain 1 merchant if that ship was alone AND on a trade route.

This is my first voodoo curse ever done. Got any suggestions?
I thought that this curse would suit Pirates for battle and merchants for the supplies. I added the bribe-like effect so that if you are a veteran to the game, you won't have to buy a 2.6mil+ captain.

Riddle : what is the king of ships?

Great job on your first voodoo post. It great to see new players joining in, in the discussion to make the game greater!

My thoughts on this is MoW should never be able to be lost via a single voodoo card. You need to work at it, plan your raid, spend a lot of voodoo and then capture your prize. MoW are prize ships after all. They need to be hard to get. Unless your name is Rasputin... That guy practically gives his away. :D

I personally do not see a problem with offering a "chance" at getting a MoW via voodoo. This is hardly a single voodoo card, and its not cheap to make. Additionally it is an 85% fail chance on the first cast.

I'll give this a +1 because I think Avonmora needs more things that will shake things up and offer some more aggressive options.

A typical raid for a MoW consists of

20 Levis
2-3 Krakens
1 Disfavor
7-10 Ambush
and when time calls for it some Booty Master.

Now there are multiple combinations that can make up this raid, it depends on what you are stealing it with, how much gold the person has, how much time you think you have, tail ships involved, etc...

And its the thrill of the hunt and action that makes stealing a MoW the single most enjoyable action (to me at least) in this game.

To have a chance at stealing a prize ship like this, 80% fail / 30% fail or not.... is not how this special interaction should take place. Just my humble opinion. After all MoW is my weakness/fetish/crack/addiction. I am a bit biased.

Ok, whats your thoughts on this if the MoW was taken out of the equation?

With the prices of SOLT where they are at... this card would not be worth it.

And I think I would still prefer the hunt. Waiting and watching my prey to make a mistake. Then execute. I am always prepared and ready. Sailors today are doing a great job, IMO, with guarding their ships. There are a lot more SOLT sailing today then there were 4 months ago (it feels like it anyway).

Rasputin will never admit it, but he did make a mistake in letting his gold get too low. Others saw it, I capitalized. I had my eyes on it for a few weeks and then it popped up. Again, I would prefer the hunt.

It would probably be used to destroy tails during raids, so the card would be equivalent to 10 call levi. Using it to get the scraps would not be worth it, like Shadowood said.

So you want me to increase the chance to fail on the second cast? Also, you want me to make it cheaper to make? I saw it as a way for people to at least have a better chance at getting MoW's and since they never had one, it makes it easier for vets to snatch them up, like yourself, Shadowood. A lot of people do not know how to protect their MoW's and this card can indirectly help you when someone else steals a MoW.

For example: If a new player (500k -fame and influence or players #65,000+) gets their hands on a MoW via this voodoo, chances are they do not know how to protect it. Let alone, they may have a smaller purse than that of vets. This gives the older players an advantage over this card.

Also, they could have Mindbar active on them. When there is already an 85% chance at fail with an additional 75% block, It makes it especially difficult. If countercurse is active, that may block it as well. Even if it does get through the 75% fail, it has the 85% to deal with. Then if that fails, they have to deal with the 75% again and that's against the odds to earn it.

Any suggestions to edit this card?
