Piet Hein (silverfleet)

Do you have an idea for a card ? Do you want a tweak on existing voodoo cards? Perhaps you even want one of them removed? This is where you can post your suggestion.

Piet Hein (silverfleet)

when the evening made way for the dark of the night a small armada sailed from the port.
It was an known secret that it carried the total tax-income of that day on her way to the kings coffers.
Still, what could be done, the heavy laden chests had to be delivered to the needy king and his cronies before nightfall.
That night a large gathering of privateers lay in wait. the battle was fierce and both sides gave no quarter. ships were sunk and ships were taken.
that night the king cried.

legendary card

this card targets a port and is activated at midnight.
when cast the casters nation will gain part of that days gain from the attacked port.
first a random part (up to 50%) of the total tax will sink with her ships,
next a random part (up to 33% of the surviving GC) will be transferred to the treasure of the nation to who the caster belongs. (a pirate will sink the nation's part as well).
last, what is left with find her way to the original nations treasure chest.

ingredients:
advanced piracy
bootymaster
oLoD
ambush
taxation

it should take at least a week to brew, and the total ingredients should make it a very expensive card.

when more players cast this on the same port the casts will be dealt with in chronological order of casting. each starting where the last ended. only after all these cards are dealt with will the nation start to pay stipends etc.

the attacked nation will lose 2-85% of the ports income, the casters nation will win 1-32% of it. the caster self won't profit directly. i would prefer that this card could only be cast after a nation voted for it. not sure if that is possible.

i hope that this card will function as a port booty master. anticipating port battles done by fleets and port defenses. since it's legendary i made it OP in %-tages.

An average port will give you 1-1.5m gold daily as a tax income. if nations will lose %50 at first step it means 750k gold will sink for 1.5m tax income

you will get %33 of the surviving golds it means 247,5k gold. Nation's total lose barely 1m. Its not really worth to craft or worth to use.

If you want to harm a nations treasury. use your skirmish points to attack them.

total tax is (10gc*0.60*population)/365. E.g. for Vaasburg: (10*0.60*853,809,381)/365= 14,035,222.7 gc

I guess i misunderstood. I thought its port trade tax income.

For vaasburg Total daily tax income = 4,696,438 gc.

%50 sink amount= 2,348,219 gc

%33 of surviving gold 774,912 gc

Nation's total lose 3,123,131 gc

ingredients: Lets say 1 for each means 24c cost = 3,360,000 gc
advanced piracy
bootymaster
oLoD
ambush
taxation

If you want to make profit and harm your enemy with this voodoo. you should aim more than 350-400m pops ports.
If you only harm your enemies than use it on any nation.
Im not sure if its still worth to craft but it needs restrictions.

Will be usable only by governors. If you want to add more gameplay and aiming action. restrict this for only usable by governors not kings not dukes only governors. which means if you want to target a nation's ports you should risk your own ports too.

Me no like voodoo that is 1 cast and no need work done.

And I also like the fact that you used the word of another language, Franch?

What's the point if it's just to rob a nation with 1 cast?

Piet Hein was a Dutch admiral who captured a Spanish silver fleet. this was the straw that broke the spanish camel back. Spain was the most powerful nation of that age, the Netherlands just a small insignificant part of her huge empire and without natural resources. During the 80 year war of independence from Spain, the Dutch forced the Spanish to keep a huge army in the Netherlands. the treasure from the new world was needed to pay those armies. with the loss of their treasure fleet, Spain finally lost control over the low lands and the republic of the Netherlands was born, while Spain went in decline.
(fun fact: the Dutch declaration of independence was used as an example by the USA when they wrote theirs.)
