The Ultimate Sacrifice (Legend Voodoo)

So I am guessing this idea is going to be extremely controversial, and have many different perspectives. So lets dive in.

This is a simple card, with a lot of specific rules in terms of use.
The Ultimate Sacrifice: Give up all your wealth, turns, and voodoo, leave your nation, and have 1/4th of your ships removed in order to destroy one enemy fleet.

Rules of Voodoo Part 1: 100% pierce, not anonymous, CAN ONLY BE USED ONCE, Cannot be casted on self.

Rules of Voodoo Part 2: Only affects docked fleets, Only affects fleets with higher than 100 danger, all bank accounts or turns invested in treasure hunting are cleared. There is NO way to hide turns or gold, all trace is cleared. Castor MUST have at least 100million gold present and 200 turns at time of usual. The Castor CANNOT receive loans or donations for the next 5 days. Lose 1/4 of ships, completely of your choice.

Warning: NOT EVERYTHING will be lost, materials will still be in the warehouse, so you can always sell a ton of tools after usual and get millions back.

Crafting: Since this card destroys all your voodoo, it is obvious that you will need a lot of voodoo to create this card (and why keep it limited? You will lose all your voodoo after usual regardless). Craft = 2 hideouts + 100 buried treasure + 5 fire ships + 1 mindbar + 5 Call Leviathan + 200 drums of war

This card is pretty much a last breath for players under serious stress that are not complete newbies. Would be used by players in a desperate attempt to injure an attacker. I would expect the use of this card to have serious retaliation, so use should be used in a war struggle.

Voodoo Type: Legendary

this card is worthless. you give up ALL that to get rid of ONE fleet. if a experienced player was under so much distress using this would only screw himself over even more. you also didn't say how this legendary voodoo would be made. but this voodoo has NO use. losing all that to get rid of one fleet. with all the resources your losing using this you could set up a crap ton of bounties on your enemies. or hire some mercenaries. and of course it can only be used once, after being used you will probably never play this game again given the fact you lost everything. sorry if I sounded mean in this, I just cant believe how anyone could see this as a good idea for voodoo.

I see it as extreme and so do others. But I am not saying this card is supposed to affect the average. It is supposed to affect the powerful players with fleets full of Ship of the Lines and MoWs. Sinking one of their fleets would be millions of dollars lost for them. The card IS NOT meant to be used against the average run of the mill player that you can set a bounty on. Instead someone powerful, someone in the top 10. Think of the card as a suicide bomber. I set its rarity at Legendary.

I never stated the player would lose warehouse items. Instead, the player would lose all their gold, voodoo and turns, as well as 1/4th of their fleets. A backbone is available. The usual of the card should be taken under extreme caution. A player can use the card and sell maybe 50k tools in their warehouse and get enough to continue rolling. No officers are lost, so ships of their chosen can be replaced easier.

The ideal usual of this card would takes a while to prepare for, making it for strategy. A player would need a Backbone (tools to sell after in their warehouse for cash back), and a way for strategy. The card would be used to catastrophically destroy a powerful fleet.

There are many cheaper ways to harm and even sink such fleets without engaging in your suggested Gotterdammerung : It's a totally unnecessary option and, frankly, somewhat bizarre.

but why use it in the first place. and even if you use it on a fleet of level 10 MOW's, that would hurt another player sure. but your losing a MINIMUM 100million gold, 200 turns ALL your voodoo, and 25% of all your ships.. and the targeted fleet needs to have 100 danger on it too, so you would need to raise the danger of that fleet. I mean if I wanted to get rid of a level 10 MOW fleet, id just use a bunch of call leviathans, or SOW's or a bunch of other voodoo to weaken it that WONT require me to more or less destroy myself. hell fireship is a far better use then this voodoo.

I was thinking of introducing something less subtle. The card stands with "For Desperate Times, Calls Desperate Measures." When the attacking player has utterly defeated you, and you are on the verge of selling all your ships just so he can't capture them, and giving all your cash out so they can't take. For a player that simply can't fight back against a bigger player.

if they have utterly defeated you, you wouldn't be able to use this voodoo in the first place, given how much if bloody costs. and if you plan to make a voodoo to go with it, go ahead and mention it and its effects either in this thread or a new one. but I will be honest with you. this voodoo will never be implemented the way it is now.
